Security experts have warned parents that a new interactive Barbie doll named 'Hello Barbie' is capable of recording children's conversations and publishing them on the Internet because it has WiFi and speech recognition settings.

Creator Mattel said that it ''listens and remembers the user's likes and dislikes, giving everyone their own unique experience.''

Security professional Matt Jakubowski - who managed to hack the doll - told to NBC News: ''It's just a matter of time until we are able to replace their servers with ours and have her say anything we want.''

Campaigners wish for the doll to be discontinued and have said: ''Children naturally confide in their dolls, and reveal a great deal about themselves when they play. It is wrong for Mattel and your technology partner ToyTalk to record, transmit, and analyze these intimate conversations.''
