Obese monkey goes on diet
The obese primate, which is believed to be aged between 10 to 15 years old, has been nicknamed Uncle Fat after he became morbidly overweight from gorging on junk food and soft drinks left behind by tourists.
And it has been reported on the Metro Online the animal's overindulgence left him at a high risk of heart disease and diabetes.
A team of vets decided to catch the animal and put him on a strict healthy eating plan in a bid to get his weight down to an ideal size.
Vet Kaewchot said: ''I understand that people feel sorry for the monkeys and want to feed them when they see them.
''But please don't feed them food that people like to eat like snacks and soda. It is very bad for their health and the problem is entirely man made.''
