A parrot was taken into custody for ''abusing'' an 85-year-old woman.

The animal was reportedly locked up by police after Janabai Sakharkar of Maharashtra, India, claimed she was hurled abuse by the bird whenever she visited her stepson Suresh, the Metro newspaper reports.
Police - who found the whole incident hilarious - said the parrot could have learnt the abuse when it heard Janabai and Suresh argued, apparently over property.
