In a survey of 1,000 British adults, some 63 percent of couples are said to share a similar taste when it comes to their musical preference, whilst 36 percent say music has played an important role in meeting their other partners, after meeting them in a place where music was prominent, such as a party or gig.

Adam Read, Deezer's UK & Ireland Music Editor, said: ''Our study shows music is indeed one of the best ways to a loved one's heart. The stats imply that couples that bond over music have a better shot at a lasting relationship.

''While music taste is very personal, it brings people together and many couples still feel butterflies over a special song.''
