A particular breed of Spanish slugs are believed to have been mating with fellow shell-less molluscs in the UK and have produced six-inch hybrid, which can reportedly eat mice, other snails and plants, according to the Mirror Online.

Experts have said the offspring can survive up to 20 slug pellets, and because of the humid weather, the UK has become the perfect breeding ground for the animals.

The slugs are reported to have come into the country on salad leaves in 2010, although it was believed they had been killed off by the colder temperatures.
