Signs encourage commuters to 'kiss and ride'

A train station has installed signs encouraging people to ''kiss and ride''.

Bosses at the station in Preston, Lancashire, northern England - which is run by Virgin Trains - have gotten rid of the traditional 'Drop off Zone' signs and replaced them with the romantic ones to help ease traffic congestion, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

A spokesman said: ''We are a romantic lot here at Preston.

''We think it's something to do with the excitement of the train journey.

''We've worked closely with the council to improve the access to the station and the sign is just a little bit of fun to ensure we make it as easy as possible for our customers to make their way to and from the platforms.''
