People who talk in their sleep are likely to say negative or insulting things while they snooze.

That is according to new research conducted by Dr Isabelle Arnulf, who has shed some light on the sorts of things people say while they're sleeping.

Of the 232 adults who participated in the research, it was found that 87 experienced sleep walking or night terrors, one had sleep apnea, and the others had no sleep-related disorders, according to Mirror Online.

As part of the research, all of the participants were monitored during the night and it was the word ''no'' that was used most often.

It was also discovered that more than 10 percent of the participants swore, with the word ''f**k'' being used an incredible 800 times more frequently than is the case while they are awake.
