Star Wars outfit saves man from snake bite

''I could feel the teeth on the plastic scraping but the armour actually stopped something ... It stopped the snake bite and probably saved my life today.''

A man has been saved from a venomous snake bite by his Star Wars outfit.

Scott Loxely - who is raising money for charity by walking around the Australian desert in a stormtrooper outfit - encountered a snake which he thought was dead, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

He said: ''He lunged at me and bit me. But the good news is ... he bit me in the shin and the armour actually protected me and stopped the bite.
