A stray cat has been accused of trying to kill an elderly woman.

Police are convinced the unidentified moggy attempted to kill Mayuko Matsumoto, 82, after she was found by her daughter bleeding profusely in her home in Mifune Japan with around 20 cuts - some severe - to her face, according to RKK.
An investigation into the mysterious has been launched and, after inspecting her wounds, it was claimed that her blood-soaked fans was caused by a feline.
Investigators also found no sign of forced entry and discovered traces of what could be human blood a number of stray cats found around Ms Matsumoto's home.
Her daughter said: ''When we found her, blood covered everything above her chin. Her face was soaked in blood. I didn't know what happened.''
Ms Matsumoto - who received emergency care - is currently bedridden and is unable to speak about the attack but tests are being carried out on a sample of the blood.
