People hate seeing holiday pictures on social media, according to a new study.

Aviva, who carried out the research, found that 73 per cent of people who took part in the research got wound up when they came across photos of their pals enjoying themselves during their time off.

The study also found that the most unpopular pose of all holiday pictures is the 'hot dogs or legs?'

Adam Beckett, propositions director at Aviva, told the Metro: ''A holiday is, for many, a time to switch-off and have a rest but it would seem that taking a break doesn't apply to social media.

''Long gone are the days when the first time British holidaymakers would see their snaps was in the chemist after they got home.

''Now, we're sharing our holiday memories as soon as they happen, and with a much wider circle of friends and family.''
