A thief was left ''mortified'' when he stole a tampon from a woman's pocket.

Lisa Coen has taken to social media to ''send prayers and good wishes'' to the pickpocket who dipped his hand in her pocket expecting to bag a wad of cash, but only to land the female sanitary product, which he swiftly tried to shove back.
She tweeted: ''Send prayers & good wishes for the guy who tried to pick my pocket on the luas, took out a tampon, got mortified & tried to put it back.(sic).''
