Customers were left in utter shock when they tried to book their spaces to travel the 64-mile journey from Taunton in Somerset, England, to Trowbridge, as a first class fare racked up to £9,987.30 more than a standard single fare, which usually costs £12.70.

According to The Sun Online the journey also included one change at Westbury, much to the customers annoyance.

However, a spokesperson for Great Western Rail has revealed the extortionate price for the trip was a glitch and the team were working on the problem and were hoping to fix it.
