The pair were flying over Washington State, when they drew the phallic symbol in the air and, although they will be punished, it's not been revealed what the penalty will be as they have been allowed to keep their jobs.

Vice Admiral Mike Shoemaker told the Military Times: ''The American people rightfully expect that those who wear the Wings of Gold exhibit a level of maturity commensurate with the missions and aircraft with which they have been entrusted.

''Naval aviation continually strives to foster an environment of dignity and respect. Sophomoric and immature antics of a sexual nature have no place in Naval aviation today.''

The inappropriate images were drawn in the sky on November 16, by airline pilots who are part of the Electronic Attack Squadron 130, in an EA-18 Growler aircraft.
