Wedding ceremony held for frogs
Two frogs have got married.
''This ritual is performed as a last resort measure. And thanks to God, our wishes come true.''
Over a thousand people were in attendance at the six-hour-long ceremony in the East Indian village of Dibrugarh, reports the Daily Express newspaper.
Locals reportedly believed that the ritual would help bring rainfall during the dry season that the village has been experiencing.
The frogs were dressed in wedding outfits and over nine-hundred plates of food were served to guests.
Ms Gogoi, a villager who attended the wedding, said: ''We let the frogs go, so that they can live their life and convey our message to the rain gods.
''This ritual is performed as a last resort measure. And thanks to God, our wishes come true.''
Rain has since fell on the village.
