Woman crashed new car seconds after purchase

A woman crashed her new car just seconds after buying it.

''We all ran over and she wasn't hurt but the car was a real mess. We pushed it back to the showroom where it is with mechanics ... We'd warned her that it was a very powerful car.''

Ping Ch'ang had just splashed out £50,000 on a brand new Porsche Boxster when she left the showroom in Shenyang, China and, mistaking the throttle for the break, crashed into a queue of cars waiting at the traffic lights.

The Daily Mirror newspaper reports Porsche salesman Qiang Chiu as saying: ''We were still waving her goodbye when she shot forward and there was a tremendous bang.

''We all ran over and she wasn't hurt but the car was a real mess. We pushed it back to the showroom where it is with mechanics ... We'd warned her that it was a very powerful car.''

The vehicle will reportedly need extensive repairs, as will the four vehicles she crashed into.
