Woman sells soap made from breast milk

A woman is selling soap made from her breast milk.

''I used to pour it all down the drain, but it seemed such a waste.''

The new mum, who lives in China, was forced to find a novel use for her breast milk after her newborn son refused to drink it.

The soap has since become popular on China's market place website Taoboa - which attracts over 500million regular users - after the inventive mother boasted of its skincare benefits and its ability to prevent nappy rash, reports The Daily Mirror newspaper.

She said: ''I used to pour it all down the drain, but it seemed such a waste.''

While the claims remain unproven, NHS studies have shown that drinking breast milk improves a baby's chances of avoiding skin conditions like eczema.
