Dating Taboo’s – let’s break the norm July 8, 2008
Posted by Ruth in : Ruth's Ramblings , trackbackOkay, I was trying to set my friend up the other day and she was really reluctant to let me help her find a man, despite the fact that she’s always whining about being alone and having noone to snuggle up with at night (there are certain things your plastic friend just can’t give you!)
But when I came up with what I thought was the perfect solution, speed dating, she nearly ran a mile, despite the fact that you can cram as many potential partners into one night…sounds like heaven.
This led me to ponder what exactly people were frightened of when it comes to these modern dating methods such as speed dating, internet websites and so on….so I thought, ‘I’m going to test them out’ because I want to prove that there’s nothing wrong or shameful about trying to find that special someone, we don’t all live in a rom-com film, and our dream guy isn’t just going to wander across our path and sweep us up into his arms.
So we need to stop living in the past and grab our love lives with both hands and make it happpen, because the owness is just as much on the man as it is the woman these days, we need to get out there and start playing the game.
So, that brings me to my conclusion, I am going to sample as many dating methods as i can (please feel free to suggest some) and bring to you the truth about the taboos of being on the shelf and trying to find a ladder to help you down.
If you want to come up with some idea for things I can do then please suggest things here;
