Dating Taboo’s – let’s break the norm: My First Speed Date(s)

Well, as promised here is the lowdown of my London adventure on the London eye where I dated a lust 10 guys in just over half a hour!!

So, I shall start from the beginning, my friend and I drove down and found ourselves in a stunning hotel called Pasha, which, with its Turkish feel and exquisite decor, got me in the mood for champagne and those London city types just right!

I got showered (in the most amazing shower I’ve ever seen in my life,) pulled my glad rags on , slapped some rouge on the cheeks and I was ready to date…although getting to the London eye itself was terrifying, I really don’t recommend losing your city virginity in rush hour when everyone seems to know where they’re going and you’re wandering around like a salmon travelling up stream!

Anyway, I got there and my first problem was that I couldn’t find the room in County Hall that everyone was supposed to be meeting in so I spent 15 minutes wandering around like a total idiot in red killer heels – i thought that I looked pretty good but the fact that everyone else was in ‘tourist wear’ and trainers, i did look slightly out of place!

However, the looking good didn’t last long as I became more and more flustered at being lost in the big city, despite asking three different people for help (Bloody southerners are so unwilling to assist a young northern lady in obvious turmoil!)

But anyway, eventually I found it and I was in…I looked around for my potential suitors….no-one….yes that’s right, I was the bloody first one there, so of course I did what any girl would do, helped myself to the free champagne and Impulse body spray ( I did have to smell lush after all!) then slowly and surely the other daters started to filter in and I found myself mingling with two other single lovelies who were (luckily filled with the same nervous excitement as me)

After a hour of mingling, and far too many glasses of bubbly we were bundled onto the eye and off we went, with the girls speed dating the guys (as this is the romance revolution after all)  – two minutes to find out if this was your future husband of just another sad and lonely birdwatcher (not that I’m ruling them out just yet!)

Before I knew it I’d dated them all (forgetting to fill in my ‘score sheet’ for most of them) and the experience was over before I’d had a chance to have a birds eye view of the capital city; i must say, for anyone who is going to try speed dating, having some booze can get you relaxed, however, too much and you could stop paying attention to what was happening and might end up slipping down the slope into beer-goggle terrotory) Bad times.

So after all that I did meet two hotties, despite the fact that I went in thinking that noone was going to be able to woo me and assuming they would all be total anorak’s but i was pleasantly surprised by the turnout; fair enough I was only actually attracted to two of them, but about 7 of them were actually really nice guys who I would love to keep in contact with just to find out if they ever do meet a lovely girl…they probably all fell for the girl I was sat next to, as she ticked all 10 guys as potential dates…talk about keeping your options open girl!!

So all in all, I don’t know if I have a match, as I still haven’t heard back from the Impulse, despite the fact they said we would find out by Monday, I can’t contain the excitement any longer, I just want to know if there were any pairs…and of course whether I need to go out and by a new outfit for a potential wedding… =]

Whether I managed to get a guy to fall for me or not doesn’t matter anymore, as I know that I’ve met some firm friends who I will keep in touch with for many years to come, and who I will be able to share exciting stories about our latest love conquests, or if all else fails, the latest male escorts on the scene!

Wow, that was a long one…

With regards to meeting my dream guy on the London eye…I will let you know when I know
