Fresh from winning Designer of The Year at the British Fashion Awards http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/lifestyle-fashion/stylenews/Luella-6156.html, Luella Bartley has experienced a buzz like no other in recent years.

As such, reading about her and her past http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/lifestyle-fashion/stylecelebs/Luella-6182.html has been thrilling, considering I didn’t know that much about her until I saw her AW08 collection. Now you may think that’s very current, but in truth she showed these designs back in February.. so really I’m pretty behind.

Having reviewed her collection at London Fashion Week back in September, I have to say she’s a deserving talent to win this new award, her funky pop prints and candy-coloured outfit choices for her Spring collection are set to be huge, even more so than her winter line this year. Shock Horror- I know!

There are many names that are big in fashion, but when you think of accessible, fun and quirky clothes and accessories, there is only one name that springs to mind. Her celeb following alone should be enough to convince us of her talent, and having won the international designer of the year award back in February, clearly she’s starting to get the accolade she deserves.

On some other winners who made it big on the night, I’m mostly in agreeance with the judges and their choices. Jourdan Dunn has been on our fashion radar for a while and I think she was a nice choice, considering the over-exposure that Aggy has been getting of late. Also Matthew Williamson’s award was well deserved as was Stephen Jones’ outstanding achievement award.

I’m a little bit hesitant about Jimmy Choo winning best luxury brand, but hey-ho it’s not me that’s making the decisions! I should really be supporting them considering I purchased my first pair of Choos in the summer and they are in fact my pride and joy!
