Ruth’s Christmas Wishlist December 15, 2008

Okay ladies (and gentleman), now I know you will have all written your christmas list and popped it in the post to the North Pole, so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon too; and what better than to share my christmas wishes with you?

So here are the things I would most love to see under my christmas tree, music-wise and otherwise (just in case you can get your hand on a hunky fella to send my way! So here goes…

The CD: Bruce Springsteen – Working On A Dream (pre Order)

So the actual CD isn’t out until January, but I’ve loved Bruce since I was a kid (thanks for that Mum and Dad) and I am super excited to have his new album in my life! To be honest though, is anything ever going to bring more joy to me than Streets Of Philiadelphia? Somehow I doubt it.

The Concert Tickets: Nightwish @ Bixton Academy March 11

My favourite band in the world ever are once again going to grace the UK with their delicous music. But as they aren’t coming to Manchester (where I live) this time round, I would love it if Santa could provide me with tickets, travel and accommodation to this lucious event.

The Live DVD: Roadrunner United: All Star Sessions

If you have to ask why, then you really shouldn’t be reading this! Yes I know there are massive DVD’s coming out fromt he likes of Girls Aloud, Westlife and Boyzone. but let’s face it; a collection of metal’s biggest musicians all collaborating on some of metal’s greatest hits. It’s sex on CD. And possibly the closest I’ll get to sex too.

The Book: A Dose Of Rock And Roll – Nancy Lee Andrews

I’m never one to really like picture books, I like to think I grew out of that as a child and have now progressed onto the grown-up works of the incredible John Grisham. But after hearing about this collection of photos from a photographer who has worked with some of the most influential people in music; i think it might just be a picture book that I’m not too old for.

The Dress: All Saints

Pirro Dress
So I can’t justify (on my wages) spending £110 on a dress; but I need this in my life more than anything else. I know you would suggest a man, but this dress would hook a man no problem… well I’d have to sort the weight issue out first, but we would be halfway there at least.

If you have it already, don’t talk to me of I would just want to rip it off you.

The Shoes – Christian Louboutin Mary Jane Platforms

Okay, so every dress needs a pair of good sturdy heels, and fair enough these might not be that sturdy, but nevertheless, they do make me a little bit (too) excited. And with my black dress you clearly need some foxy red heels.

If I do get these however, and you need to find me, just look for the girl collapsed at the bottom of the stairs in your local pub.

The Random One: An Ecosphere

Oh I have been dreaming about my very own Ecosphere for many years now and i need one in my life more than any other animal-based gift (yes even a Tamagochi mum!)

If you don’t know what one is then you are missing out on the most incredible thing ever, but at the same time I like it being my own secret love so I don’t really want to tell you! Just google it.

The Man: Alex James

It’s hard for me to decided on just one man I want to find under my christmas tree, as there in several I’d just like to generally find at my door any day of the year; Giovanni Ribisi, Chester Bennington, Carmine Giovazzino, Matt Heafy, in fact, just anyone with tattoos and a musical instrument really.

But the man of the moment for me has to be Alex James, from Blur and a judge on the current T4 show Orange Unsigned Act. I know he’s too old for me, and he isn’t the most stylish guy on the planet, but from the first moment I saw him I just had to have him in my life.

If you would like to donate any of the above to my mailbox, don’t be shy!

Ruth xx
