The End Is Nigh.. December 19, 2008
Posted by Laura in : Belly Dancing , add a commentWell, It’s been a long and quite tiresome 6 weeks of learning to belly dance, but as my title suggests- the end is nigh and I’ll be quite glad to see the back of it!
I’ve lost no weight, but then again I didn’t change my diet so what did I expect? well, a miracle actually, ahh well! Still, apart from that, it’s been more difficult than I thought it would be by far.
I’d of probably been better off going to a class, where I had people to motivate me and point me in the direction of where I was going wrong, as it was it was just me making a pillock (yes, this is a word) of myself in my living room.
I’ve still not fully mastered the basics and as a consequence, the routine I’ve been doing for the past week hasn’t come together yet. But I’ve got tonight, the weekend and then monday and tuesday before xmas eve is upon me.
Like an idiot, I’ve agreed to do a routine for my family on xmas eve, while at a hotel in wales… wonder how I can get out of that? answers on a postcard, or the comments page please….
I’ll be back for my last belly dancing report of the year next week.
Until then, Keep (belly) Dancing!

Anne Hathaways Wedding Dreams December 19, 2008

Anne Hathaway swears she she’s not one of those gals who obsesses about her dream wedding, but she does admit to thinking about at least one detail of the big day.
“I haven’t thought about the food; I haven’t thought about the look; I haven’t thought about my dress. I haven’t really thought about the guy,” Hathaway says in the new issue of Modern Bride
What’s on her wishlist?
“Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs and “Walken” by Wilco are a couple of her must have’s. And she has high hopes for “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. “That’s going to be, like the number one wedding song for the next 25 years,” predicts Hathaway, who stars in next month’s Bride Wars opposite Kate Hudson. “Trust me.”
Hathaway names her gay brother’s wedding to his partner as her favorite nuptials. “At one point, he and his husband were standing up there, and my mom got up to sing,” she remembers. “She was beaming straight love into them and everyone felt it, and it was just this beautiful moment.”
Sounds like mum’s going to be on Hathaway’s playlist, too.

We’re all getting in the Christmas spirit in the FemaleFirst office, so we thought we would spead the seasonal joy by letting you know that Mariah Carey has been crowned the Queen of Christmas songs. Great. I much prefer something a bit more upbeat…. not that I’m saying Mariah is the most boring woman on the planet or anything…
Dear oh dear, first he pisses me off by pretending to know Michael Jackson, but now Akon has gone and pleaded guilty to tossing a fan into the crowd at a recent concert. I always knew he was a tosser with those arms.
It would appear that Madonna just can’t do anything right this month; on Monday she was falling on her face during a show and today she is being forced to admit she lied about her divorce settlement with Guy Richie…. oh Madge, we thought better of you. Okay, I lied; no we didn’t.
As much as we love a good Hollywood break-up to make us feel better about being sand and lonely this Christmas, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have put on a wholly untied front amid rumours their marriage is in trouble. How sweet.
I think if you’re going to sue someone, you should do it right, and my word, Black Sabbath are certainly doing that; not by suing some bloke who put a track online, or someone who write nasty things about them… but Live Nation – the concert promoting giant; for selling their merchandise for them. Hum. How bizarre.
