I know I come across as quite jokey, and I think that’s a great asset of mine when it comes to interviews, but there are a few cases, where jokes need to be put aside whilst you just listen to a remarkable story.
Eileen Rose is a singer/songwriter, who I have to admit, I had never heard of prior to the interview. But afterwards she has a massive impact on my life.
Speaking about her latest album, At Our Tables, Eileen explained that a lot of the inspiration had been taken from death, 9/11 and a book called For One More Day, by Detroit author Mitch Albom. The book had the opening quote which read: “The Dead sit at our tables long after they have gone.”
When Eileen told me how much this line meant to her, it resonated so well with me as I tried to cope with the grief over the death of my grandfather and even inspired me to go out and buy the book in question.
Its really rare that someone touches you in the way Eileen did, and I left work that day feeling like I wasn’t the only person in the world who had lost someone, but knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for us all.
Without a doubt, this woman is one of my most enjoyable interviews to date.

Victoria Beckham vs Katie Holmes January 15, 2009

Ding Ding! seconds out, round 1. Yes, the first lady of fashion went head to head with her protege yesterday, as both ladies revealed their new Spring/Summer campaigns for different fashion houses.
Victoria Beckham easily hogged the most limelight with her half naked pics Victoria+Beckhams+Armani+Underwear+Shoot-6852.html but Katie’s Miu Miu campaign is gaining momentum as more people see the pictures.
While Vic does look gorgeous posing in her underwear for Armani, Katie looks like a fashion model in her campaign, wearing a stunning gold dress, teamed with slicked back hair and make-up.
Now we’re not saying the BFF’s purposely released their pictures on the same day, because that would instantly create press about who was better and neither lady is that fickle, right?!
Posh kind of wins this one in our eyes, seeing as she dared to bare he bod just like hubby David and looks gorgeously trim (not skinny) in the simple black undies.
Over to you Katie, although you may want to strip off a bit more for your next campaign… just a thought!

I find it incredibly hypocritical that musicians whine about having their tracks leaked online by ordinary folk who just want to share the joy but then ask the likes of Kanye West to leak songs for them, just to get a bit of exposure! Shame on you Peter, Bjorn and John!
It seems Beyonce Knowles isn’t endearing herself to staff at her record label. The singer has left them dog-sitting her pooch Munchie for the past six months while she promoted album I Am…Sasha Fierce. We bet that isn’t in their job descriptions. If we were them we’d be expecting a pay rise from the singer. That or we’d take the dog to the pound.
The world of fashion is well on its way to becoming green as recycled bus seats have been reworked to make shoes. After last week’s excitement of the shoes being made out of plastic bags, I didn’t think anything could top it, but using part of a bus to make the latest couture? Brilliant.
So here we are again at the beginning of the festival season as the Sundance Film Festival gets underway and FemaleFirst earmarks some of the films that you should be keeping your eye on.
