When Heath Ledger suddenly died in January 2008 it looked like The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, the movie that he was working on at the time, would remain unfinished.
But filmmaker Terry Gilliam, who had worked with Ledger on Brothers Grimm, had other ideas and drafted in Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp to complete the film in memory of the actor.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom.
