Animation has been really strong this year with the likes of Up, 9, Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs and Monsters vs Aliens, all of which have done very well at the box office.
And it looks like 2010 is going to kick off in similar fashion as Astro Boy is released in January.
Set in Metro City, a grieving scientist constructs a young robot with incredible powers in the image of the son he has lost.
Unable to fulfill the grieving scientist’s expectations, “Astro Boy” leaves, embarking on a journey of acceptance and betrayal that eventually leads him back to to the home he left in order to save Metro City and the father who had rejected him.
Directed by the Flushed Away filmmaker David Bowers the film boasts the voice talent of Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland and Bill Nighy.
