It has been a fair while since Mel Gibson graced the big screen in front of the camera, having focused on his directing career in recent years.
But 2010 sees him return with Edge of Darkness, an adaptation of a 1985 BBC television series.
As homicide detective Thomas Craven investigates the death of his activist daughter, he uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.
Martin Campbell, the man behind Casino Royale is behind the camera and Gibson is joined on the cast list by Ray Winstone and Danny Huston.
The thriller looks set to be one of the most exciting movies at the beginning of 2010 with a 19th February release date.
