Boasting an all star cast of Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire and is directed by Jim Sheridan
Thirty-something Captain Sam Cahill and his younger brother Tommy Cahill, are polar opposites.
A Marine about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, Sam is a steadfast family man married to his high school sweetheart, the aptly named Grace, with whom he has two young daughters.
Tommy, his charismatic younger brother, is a drifter just out of jail who’s always gotten by on wit and charm.
He slides easily into his role as family provocateur on his first night out of prison, at Sam’s farewell dinner with their parents, Elsie and Hank Cahill, a retired Marine.
Shipped out to Afghanistan, Sam is presumed dead when his Black Hawk helicopter is shot down in the mountains.
At home in suburbia, the Cahill family suddenly faces a shocking void, and Tommy tries to fill in for his brother by assuming newfound responsibility for himself, Grace, and the children.

I saw the trailer for “Brothers” the other day. Really looking forward to this one coming out. Didn’t Natalie Portman play a war wife in Cold Mountain too? I think she’ll probably get some oscar nods for this.
Anyone see “Brothers” yet? I saw it this past weekend, and it was definitely one of my favorites of teh year. I didn’t think Tobey would be able to pull off the “tough guy” soldier act, but he really conveyed some rage in his character. I bet he’ll win an oscar for this, or at least get the much needed respect he deserves.
that’s right, i ttlly forgot Nat played in Cold Mountain. she’s way better in Brothers, it’s very
realistic and she and jake’s romance parts are such a tease : ( — i want MORE! a good movie regardless
