Kate Moss seems to have found herself in hot water since we told you she had admitted that her life motto was “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” and now her fellow celebs have picked up on her appalling comments.
In the interview with website WWD Kate left fans and industry insiders gob smacked, and women up and down the country are vying for their say, with pregnant Denise Van Outen being one of the first to have a go, saying; “Kate Moss is talking out of her size-zero backside! Having been in the industry for so long, she knows the impact her comment will have on any vulnerable young woman.”

What’s more, many critics are worried that Katie’s ‘revelation’ will be hailed as the best thing since *ahem* sliced bread on many anorexia websites… which act as a ‘lifeline’ to many girls who think anorexia is actually the way to go if you want to be ‘beautiful.‘
Whilst experts have branded Kate “shocking and irresponsible” I am just worried that these girls will believe that Kate Moss is stunning & successful, and that she only got their way through not eating. Regardless of whether she did or not, we should be happy with the figures we’ve got, because as women, curves are the most and natural beautiful thing we have… just look at Kelly Brook.

Now, I agree strongly that girls should not starve themselves to be thin, and that Kate Moss’s comment was stupid and irresponsible. However, I take issue with the following phrase:
‘we should be happy with the figures we’ve got, because as women, curves are the most and natural beautiful thing we have… just look at Kelly Brook’.
Yes, we should accept ourselves as we are, but surely that includes those of us who are naturally skinny? I have struggled for years to GAIN weight – for some of us it is near to impossible – and have finally come to accept and be happy with my shape. Women like me are subjected to comments like ´Are you anorexic?´, ´Do you ever eat?´ and essentially told that we are responsible for promoting eating disorders and that men prefer women with curves.
We are NOT ALL CURVY. Accepting your natural shape and size is a positive step towards psychological well-being, but that by definition includes ALL shapes and sizes. I am as much of a woman as any other, and as attractive in my own way.
I totally agree with Alice. I am also naturally skinny even after being married for 15 years and having 2 children. I have struggled and still am. Because I do NOT think that looking like a scraggy bean pole is beautiful at all. You gotta have some flesh on you! I applaud you Alice, cause NO ONE could have said it better.
I agree with Alice, very well said.
I think people are hypocrites , if a fat lady had said the same, no one will be complaining. Kate said what she felt like saying coz she is happy with her body, she loves being skinny….anything wrong with that? The only unfortunate thing is that the media, always out for a story decided to publishise it, and as she is a public figure, some young girls may take that seriously, which is sad.
One should be happy with their body and should not feel bad about expressing their happiness.
I am happy being skinny an dhis thing about men appreaciating curves only is rubbish, some men do, some men dont…so, if u love your curves, keep them, if not, hit the gym.
Cheers…celebrating skinninness
