Whiplash Poster For Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2 is all set to be one of the biggest movies of 2010 and will set off the summer of blockbusters in fine and exciting style, as you can tell I’m really looking forward to this one.

2009 has been a great year for Mickey Rourke and his performance in The Wrestler, which earnt him a Best Actor Oscar nomination, he has seen his star rise again in Hollywood.

And thanks to his performance in The Wrestler this year he will return to the big budget blockbuster as Whiplash, talk about some really great casting.

And Rourke isn’t the only new face we will be seeing in the franchise this summer as Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and don Cheadle join Robert Downey jr and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Exam Trailer

The claustrophobic horror movie has become a bit of a favourite and Exam is the latest movie in this genre.

UK filmmaker Stuart Hazeldine makes his directorial debut with the movie and brings together a fairly unknown cast of Luke Mably, Adar Beck, Chris Carey and Gemma Chan.

Eight talented candidates have reached the final stage of selection to join the ranks of a mysterious and powerful corporation. Entering a windowless room, where an armed guard keeps watch, they are given 80 minutes to answer one simple question.

The invigilator outlines three very specific rules that they must obey – and if they don’t, they will be disqualified:
1. They must not speak to the invigilator or the armed guard by the door.
2. They must not spoil their papers.
3. They must not leave the room.

The invigilator starts the clock and leaves. The candidates turn over their question papers, only to find… they’re completely blank.
Tensions rise as the clock counts down to zero, and each candidate must decide how far they are prepared to win the ultimate job.

The Last Airbender Trailer

We all fell in love with Dev Patel in this year’s Slumdog Millionaire and he returns to the big screen with The Last Airbender, which looks set to be one of the big films of summer 2010.

Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire.

The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang (Noah Ringer), is the “Last Airbender” — the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together.

Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.

Jackson Rathbone plays Katara’s brother Sokka, and Dev Patel plays Prince Zuko, prince of the Fire Nation. Mandvi is set to play the role of Commander Zhao, an ambitious and hot-tempered Fire Nation commander.

Toub is cast as Uncle Iroh, the retired Fire Nation general and devoted surrogate parent to Dev Patel’s character Zuko. Curtis is set to play the ruthless ruler Fire Lord Ozai. Keong Sim has been cast in the role of Earthbending Father.

Solomon Kane Trailer

Solomon Kane sees James Purefoy return to the big screen in February next year.

The first part in a trilogy series, “Solomon Kane” is an epic adventure adapted from the classic pulp stories by Robert E. Howard, creator of “Conan the Barbarian.”

Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him.

Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land.

Joe Wins The X Factor…. So Go Out And Buy Rage Against The Machine… NOW!!!!

Joe McElderry might have won the X Factor last night, which pretty much guarantees him the Christmas Number one… but lurking in the shadows is a band vying for a Merry Christmas of their own… on behalf of all that’s good in music.

So, if you’re sick and tired of talent show winners pocketing a shed-load of cash and fooling the nation into buying their ‘single’ which is a cover of a song that has already been released once this year (March 5, 2009 for the record).

joe mcelderry the climb VS. ratm - killing in the name of

I mean, are you having me on? We’re meant to buy a CD which we’ve already bought once this year already? You’ve got to be joking me! On that note though, I will be buying a CD today, and yes it will be a single… but some decent music in the form of Rage Against The Machine and Killing In The Name Of. Not that Miley Cyrus’ version of The Climb isn’t a decent song… I’ve got her album, and I’m not ashamed to admit I love it despite being a ‘rock chick‘ – god I hate that term… it makes me sound like Avril Lavigne! But Joe can’t do justice to her country sounds no matter how fluffy he might appear.

So it’s not Christmassy and my mum will probably cancel my purchase out by going and buying a copy of Joe McElderry on her dinner hour today… but I’m hoping all the members of the Facebook group ‘RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR CHRISTMAS NO.1!’ will do good, honest music proud and get a ‘proper’ musician to number one.

All I need to know now is whether or not Amazon downloads count… and who’s with me?

Ruth’s Monday Mayhem (With Goldie Lookin Chain)

Goldie Lookin Chain are hanging out in our offices today… personally we can’t wait to find out how crazy they are in ‘real-life!’ Send us your questions, and ask them that burning question.

You may have noticed that Hollywood like nothing better than killing off the human race and new movie Carriers is no different. But let’s face it this whole end of humanity as we know it is getting a little boring.

Jude Law had to be persuaded by Robert Downey Jr to take on the role of Watson in the new Sherlock Holmes movie. If Law doesn’t want work then maybe the role should have gone to someone else it’s not like he’s been making any classics recently!

Just when we thought The X Factor couldn’t get any better, it looks like 2010’s series will be bigger and better then this one after Simon Cowell hinted that he wants ITV to dig deep to fund improvements!
