Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang Trailer

The new year brings the return of Emma Thompson as the loveable, if somewhat ugly Nanny McPhee.

In Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Oscar®-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson returns to the role of the magical nanny who appears when she’s needed the most and wanted the least in the next chapter of the hilarious and heartwarming fable that has enchanted children around the world.

In the latest installment, Nanny McPhee appears at the door of a harried young mother, Mrs. Isabel Green (Maggie Gyllenhaal), who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war.

But once she’s arrived, Nanny McPhee discovers that Mrs. Green’s children are fighting a war of their own against two spoiled city cousins who have just moved in and refuse to leave.

Relying on everything from a flying motorcycle and a statue that comes to life to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant who turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee uses her magic to teach her mischievous charges five new lessons.

The movie is released 26th march. Take a sneak peak at the trailer:

Ninja Assassin Trailer

Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth.

But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them…and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders.

Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated.

Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive…and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

Ninja Assassin is released 22nd Januray. Take a look at the trailer for the movie:

Ruth’s Thursday Festive Feeling

Stephen Gately’s autopsy report confirmed today that the Boyzone star died from heart failure.

Joe McElderry might have missed out on the Christmas number one by Rage Against The Machine, but it seems as though he will be beating his mentor Cheryl Cole in the charts, as she struggled to make an impact with her new single.

You Me At Six have kindly agreed to come and make our first week back at work after the festive season all the more bearable as they pop into the office for the day on January 5th.

They do say that you can get too much of a good thing and that’s exactly what may happen with Avatar as James Cameron has two sequels in the pipeline. Avatar is a movie that’s been in production since 1994 and he wants the sequel out in the next couple of years… I see major letdown!

Our Best Movie of 2009 is on the verge of being revealed but just piped at the post is Avatar. Yes the sci-fi spectacular has missed out on the top spot, we like to be different here at FemaleFirst. But if you want to go see a movie this Christmas make sure it’s this one.
