People Of America : Get David Archuleta To Number One! December 10, 2009

Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , trackback

Aah, it’s been a whilst since I’ve written about my favourite American Teen, David Archuleta, but since I’ve got wind of his new Christmas single, Joy To The World, I had to get something on paper. (Well not paper, but you know what I mean)

So I haven’t received any news from across the pond on the new single or album – Christmas from the Heart – but I’m surely hoping Santa will pop a copy under my Christmas Tree this year!

David has said; “This album represents my love for Christmastime, and what it really is all about, this is a special time of year that we spend with family and loved ones. It means so much to each one of us. I hope you can all feel that in the music.” Awww!!

Any of you who have read my blog, will know I’ve got a bit of a thing for the little sweetheart… on the two occasions I’ve chatted to him I’ve been head over heels with his heart-warming personality – even when he said if he could own any car it wouldn’t be a flashy Porsche or Lotus, but a Prius, because it’s environmentally friendly. What a darling!

I doubt David will make much of an impact on the Christmas chart here in the UK – considering I haven’t heard a peep of news about the single or album until I Googled him this morning (and because people are too busy messing about buying Rage Against the Machine and Journey’s old hits to take notice of the current music scene.

So this is for you people of the USA… will you take David to Number One? Please make it happy!

I’m with you Ruth. This guy, this album is the bomb. I was late for work this morning because I was engulfed with his cover of Ave Maria and missed my exit. Also, check out the Snarky Archie website, those guys are awesome at covering everything David.

It puzzles me why Jive Record did not attempt to promote the album in the uk. all this while i thought otherwise. I am not a Christian yet I listen to the album everyday on my way to work. It is sooo good and soothing. His voice, that is :)

I’m also with you Ruth. And isn’t he a Darling though? I call David “Our Darlin” whne I’m not calling him “Adorable”. I know he’s trying to grow into his 19th yr, but he is just such a good human being you can’t help but use such TOEs about him.

Ruth my local AC station has been playing Xnas music since just after Thanksgiving and they’ve played only one song from the album the duet, and that only 3 or 4 times. It just amazes me the state of radio today. And how commercial Xmas has become. The reason for the season has been lost in commercialism.

Tell us what we can do Ruth. Oh Btw, Pat Marino from Heartbeat Cafe loves David also and did two weeks of his music for Irish Radio I think it was. Twitter @iheartradiofm. CFTH has gotten relly great reviews. David and his entire production team should be pleased with his 1st Christmas outing.

    Happy Holidays Ruth…
    Palm to Heart

Oh yeah! David Archuleta is the real deal! He has a musical heart and soul! Christmas From the Heart is SUPERB and FUN!!

Sad to hear CFTH isn’t getting any U.K. buzz. Here in Canada it’s a top seller, and they’re playing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas on my local Toronto radio station.

The CD is now my favourite Christmas CD (Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas now bumped to 2nd place, lol). And David’s also been wowing the crowds at his incredible Christmas concerts. You can watch the Dec.. 17th show live on BillboardLive.com (hope you can watch in the U.K.!).

also a link to the opening night of his Christmas From the Heart,
Winter Tour from Salt Lake City.

    check your email.

    enjoy!

I live in Los Angeles, and I never hear David on the radio. There’s an easy listening station here that’s been playing Christmas music for several weeks already, and I haven’t heard him once! I even sent the radio station his cd. I have no idea why since they keep playing the same songs over and over. He It’s almost like they’re prejudiced against him for some reason. It was very frustrating trying to request songs from his first album too. But I thought surely they would play his Christmas songs. He is so good, how could someone not like him. I just don’t get it.

  8. jess says:

thanks for the article. Too bad he’s not over there but it’s doing quite well over here so that’s good. :)

you should hop on over to youtube and see david doing these christmas songs live. it will blow you away.

We haven’t heard anything over here in Germany either! Thanks to David’s fansites and Youtube – I’m able to keep up with this wonderful human being! In my book he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for the peace and tranquility he bestows upon us!!! Gosh they are so lucky to have him over there in the US of A!

  10. Cara says:

I totally relate to your adoration Ruth! I haven’t been ‘smitten’ by a teen in decades, but David reminds me what it feels like! He’s a genuine talent that deserves unlimited success. I hope you get to hear the CD soon. It is amazingly well done IMO. Thanks for reaching out!

  11. archftw says:

Ha Ha on David buying a Prius. He’s wise about his money, too. CFTH is just a great CD, from beginning to end. He’s said that he wanted to keep the reverance and meanings of these songs on this album and he’s done exactly that. Hard to believe he’s only 18. Can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.

David is starting to get alot of promotion lately so hopefully his album will catch on in the UK. His CD is moving steady up the itunes and amazon charts here in the US. David was born to sing these Christmas songs, he sings them from the heart. He’s a gifted artist…

  14. mitha08 says:

OMG Christmas is right in the corner. When will the radio stations play his wonderful CD? After Christmas?? I don’t get it. Something is not right here. I hope that I’ll here his songs on the radio.
His Christmas tours are successful. may God bless him always.

  15. hollyre says:

I’m so sorry that you and the UK haven’t heard the entire Christmas From the Heart CD. It is stun-
ning. I have attended 3 of David Archuleta’s Christmas concerts and there is nothing like hearing
him live. Go to AOLmusic and you can hear the album. Then download it from Itunes. YOU HAVE
TO HEAR IT! The album has gotten lots of great reviews. There is no denying the incredible voice
that David has and it is showcased to the max on these Christmas tunes. There is even an
original song co-written by David on the album, Melodies of Christmas. He also sings songs in
French, Spanish and Latin. The album has reached #13, I believe, on Itunes for all music not just
Christmas music. Do yourself a favor and buy his album. I’ll send it to you if you can’t get it there.
Let me know where to send it.

    Hi Ruth:

I live in England, I had CFTH sent over from the States. I follow David’s tweets and FansofDavid.com and been following his Christmas concerts via youtube. I just know that the UK is much less of a festive place because David’s music isn’t out here. I’ve been emailing GMTV to get them to notice him. I don’t follow that many music artists/bands but David has had a huge impact on me and I believe the day will come when the UK will finally discover him for the wonderful person he is and for his outstanding musical talents. Merry Christmas :)

  17. Katheryn says:

Hey, Ruth. I suggest you send some UK radio stations the following link to Z100′s “Music On Demand” page for David (Z100 is THE major Top 40 radio station in New York) and ask them to take a listen to David’s Christmas music.
