First Thor Image

You would be forgiven for believing that the big screen is currently being dominated by the Marvel Comic movie… becasue you would be right.

And it’s not going to end there as Thor is quite literally just around the corner. Hoping to follow in the foosteps of Iron Man the movie, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh brings together a great cast of Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth, who takes on the lead role.

Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior, is sent down to Earth has punishment for reigniting a reckless war. But after a dangerous villain from his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth, the hammer-wielding Thor will learn what it takes to be a true hero in order to save mankind.

Expected to hit the big screen sometime next year here is the first image from the movie:

Face of Freddy Revealed

A Nightmare on Elm Street is the latest classic horror movie to get the twenty first century makeover.

And the face of Freddy Krueger is no longer the familiar chops of Robert Englund but is now played by Watchmen star and Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley.

A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams.

As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is released 7th May. Take a look at another clip from the movie:

Jonah Hex Trailer

Just when we thought that Jonah Hex wasn’t going to reach cinemas this summer they go, and finally, release the trailer for the movie.

Directed by Jimmy Hayward the movie brings togther a great cast of Josh Brolin, John malkovich, Megan Fox, Michael Fassbender and Michael Shannon for the latest graphic novel to get the big screen treatment.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone and anything.

Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the ‘other side.’

His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own.

But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich).

But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.

Based on the legendary graphic novel, Jonah Hex is an epic adventure thriller about one man’s personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

Second Splice Trailer

There are a whole host of movies that youcan catch Adrien Brody in this summer, and Splice is just one of them.

Clive and Elsa are superstars of the genetic engineering world. They specialise in splicing together DNA from different animals to create fantastical new hybrids.

The charismatic couple wants to use human DNA in a new hybrid – something that could yield astronomical medical benefits.

The pharmaceutical company that funds their research, however, is more interested in exploiting their earlier triumphs for easier, short-term profit.

Clive and Elsa secretly conduct their own experiment. The result is Dren: an amazing creature who exhibits an array of unexpected developments, both physical and intellectual.

First Jane Eyre Image

It seems that the movie industry isn’t happy unless they are filming a remake! And it’s classic jane Eyre that is once again being produced for the big screen.

Now I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of the book but haven’t we seen this adaptation a hundred times? What is wrong with producing an original screenplay?

Anyway rant over. Tye movie brings together an interesting cast of Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell, Judi Dench, Holliday Grainger and Sally Hawkins.

In the film Jane Eyre (Wasikowska) flees Thornfield House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester (Fassbender). The isolated and imposing residence – and Mr. Rochester’s coldness – have sorely tested the young woman’s resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned.

As Jane reflects upon her past and recovers her natural curiosity, she will return to Mr. Rochester – and the terrible secret that he is hiding…

Ruth’s Friday Fallout

So, it looks as if Gordon Brown has really slammed the last nail into the coffin of his Labour Prime Ministerial election campaign. He’s climbed to the top of a bell tower in his best urban camouflage, fixed his sniper rifle together and shot his campaign in the face. And himself, in the foot.

Speaking of acting like a divvy, N-Dubz star Dappy hasn’t been doing himself any favours has he? considering he doesn’t know when to keep his potty mouth shut. When telling GMTV viewers about snorting mephedrone he decided to announce; ‘You should try anything once.’ Right… great role model Dapster.
