Never has there been a day when I’ve been so happy to hear that the latest hair trend to grace our red carpet is dark roots! Yes ladies, you heard me right… no more weekly trips to the hairdresser, although they may not be too happy about this, but my purse and I certainly are!
Being naturally dark means the upkeep of my blonde hair is a complete headache, as I’m sure many of you blondes out there know all too well, so I am over the moon to heat that this is soon to be a thing of the past as the roots are growing in fast and I’m loving it!
The hair care business is always launching new and fascinating trends, and despite the fact that having dark roots has always been one of the worst fashion faux pas it seems that we can finally get away with letting it grow!
Remember though ladies, you can‘t just leave your hair unkempt now, none of this “I don’t need to do my roots so I’m not going to bother styling it eitherâ€attitude. Proper volume and styling is the key to pulling off this fabulous look, so flash your fashion-forwardness with a hairdo that combines an easy attitude and style.
Although this hairstyle may look out of place in a ball gown, a funky relaxed style will pull this look off perfectly, and letting your hair grow out is the simplest way to achieve the most natural effect. Wavy and loose hairstyles illustrate best effect of this hairstyle, so wearing your hair in waves or just with a simple side or middle part is the secret to this carefree summer trend.
Celebrities find it their duty to follow the new trends, and dark roots make no exception, some might even stick to this trick for years to accentuate their hair colour and the contrast between the two shades.
If you like this look and fancy a break from the hairdressers for a while, ask your hair stylist to create fake grown out roots in a shade that is the closest to your natural hair colour. Whether you like it longer as an inch-and-a-half-long or shorter, depending on your personal style, the effect will be cool and relaxed.
I’m telling you now girls, as soon as my roots have grown long enough to become stylish, I’ll be sure to tweet you fashionista’s a picture! www.twitter.com/mskarlyashworth
Until next week!
