Jack Sparrow is back! Yes the cameras have started rolling on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Johnny Depp reprises the role of Jack Sparrow once again.

This time around the actor, who was Oscar nominated for his part as Sparrow in Curse of the Black Pearl, is joined by Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane while Geoffrey Rush reprises the role of Barbossa and Kevin McNally returns as Gibbs as Jack hunts from the Fountain of Youth.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise -this time in Disney Digital 3D(TM).

In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love-or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth.

When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Poster

The excitement is already beginning to build around Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the movie is still four months away as the Potter franchise comes to a close.

But Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is being split into two movies so we won’t actually being saying goodbye to the boy wizard until next summer.

Part 1 begins as Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality and destruction—the Horcruxes.

On their own, without the guidance of their professors or the protection of Professor Dumbledore, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart.

Meanwhile, the wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The long-feared war has begun and Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who might oppose them. But the one prize they still seek is the one most valuable to Voldemort: Harry Potter.

The Chosen One has become the hunted one as the Death Eaters search for Harry with orders to bring him to Voldemort…alive.

Harry’s only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But as he searches for clues, he uncovers an old and almost forgotten tale—the legend of the Deathly Hallows. And if the legend turns out to be true, it could give Voldemort the ultimate power he seeks.

Little does Harry know that his future has already been decided by his past when, on that fateful day, he became “the Boy Who Lived.” No longer just a boy, Harry Potter is drawing ever closer to the task for which he has been preparing since the day he first stepped into Hogwarts: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.

FilmClub Meets The Twilight Stars

Twilight fever has hit the UK and FilmClub, the nationwide after-school initiative and experts in films for young people, were there to catch all the action.

14-year-old FilmClub junior reporter Kira Wainstein joined the UK press on the red carpet at the star-studded premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and spoke to stars of the film Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and new vampire bad boy Xavier Samuel (Riley).

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge.

In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf.

With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

FilmClub offers school children the chance to journey through the limitless universe of film through weekly screenings, online reviewing and industry events.

Over 4,500 schools have joined the initiative, with over 125,000* young people already benefiting from the exposure to inspiring and potentially life changing films every week.

Ronaldo Is The Daddy!

Crikey, I didn’t see this one coming…. Cristiano Ronaldo has just announced he’s the father of a little baby boy.

We didn’t even know he had a missus, let alone a bun in the oven (well not him obviously) but yesterday the football hunk took to his website to announce the news.

A statement reads: “It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a bay boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers t have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship.”

The baby, thought to be just over a month old, is now on his way to Portugal with the star’s sisters where it’s thought he will be raised. whilst we know that Ronaldo, 25, has never been a stranger to the ladies, it’s all a bit odd isn’t it?

Do you reckon it was planned, or just an honest mistake?

Predators Clips

This week we finally get to take a look at Robert Rodriguez’s re-working of Predators, yes that sci-fi film with Arnie, which has been directed by Nimrod Antal.

Robert Rodriguez presents a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, “Predators,” shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, directed by Nimrod Antal.

The film stars Oscar®-winner Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”) as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey.

With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

The movie boasts an impressive cast of Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Alice Braga and Danny Trejo and could well be the sci-fi event of the summer.

Predators is released 9th July. Take a look at some clips from the movie:

The Borrowers Trailer

Now I’m a huge fan of the Studio Ghibli movies as they have brough some of the best animation pictures over the years such as Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle.

After the success of Ponyo earlier this year the studio takes on a more well known project as they bring The Borrowers to the big screen in animation form.

14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home from items “borrowed” from the house’s human inhabitants.

However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty.

The Dry Land Trailer

What happens to soldiers when they come back from war? This question is answered in The Dry Land.

Jack (Ryan O’Nan) comes home from Iraq and struggles to resume a normal life with his wife Sarah (America Ferrera). But the traumas of war have left him scared and unable to adjust.

On the brink of a meltdown and unable to remember what happened to him during an attacked that happened in his unit’s humvee, he decides to take a road trip with his friend and fellow soldier Raymond (Wilmer Valderrama).

Jack and Raymond drive to Walter Reed to visit another soldier, Henry (Diego Klattenhoff) who was also in the attack.

When he comes back from the road trip he faces another tragic event, the illness and eventual death of his mother (Melissa Leo).

The events take a toll on his marriage as Sarah relies on their friend Michael (Jason Ritter) for support.

The film ends when James sees Sarah and Michael in a truck and triggers aggressive emotions in Jack.

Eventually, Jack beats up Michael, is chased by the police to his trailer and locks himself where he contimplates suicide.
