Another Never Let Me Go Clip

The excitement surrouning Never Let Me Go is getting greater by the day and the movie is already being tipped as a possible Oscar outside as Keira Knightly. Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfied join forces to bring Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel to the big screen.

Kathy (Carey Mulligan), Tommy (Andrew Garfield) and Ruth (Keira Knightley) live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know.

They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart.

Now I must admit that Never Let Me Go is one of the movies that I’m personally looking forward to as Oscar movies season gets underway and it’s great to see a really talented British cast leading the way.

It’s been a while since we have seen Knightley on the big screen, The Duchess was her last outing and a movie well worth watching if you have a couple of hours.

As for Carey Mulligan well she is continuing her sudden rise to fame after her excellent turn in An Education last year, which saw her pick up her firs Oscar nomination.

As for Garfield well he will become a major household name over the next couple of years as he is all set to play Sipder Man in the reboot of the popular franchise.

The King’s Speech Images

After the success of A Single Man, which brough Colin Firth his first Acadmey Award nomination for Best actor, the British star in back as he leads an impressive cast for The King’s Speech.

The King’s Speech tells the story of the man who would become King George VI, the father of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ‘Bertie’ VI (Firth) reluctantly assumes the throne.

Plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer and considered unfit to be King, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Rush).

Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.

Directed by Tom Hooper the movie also stars Geffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pearce and Michael Gambon.

A Town Called Panic Trailer

Animated plastic toys like Cowboy, Indian and Horse have problems too. Cowboy and Indian’s plan to surprise Horse with a homemade birthday gift backfires when they destroy his house instead.

Surreal adventures ensue as the trio travel to the centre of the earth, trek across frozen tundra and discover a parallel underwater universe where pointy headed (and dishonest!) creatures live.

Each speedy character is voiced – and animated – as if their very air contains both amphetamines and laughing gas. With panic a permanent feature of life in this papier mache town, will Horse and his girlfriend ever be alone?

A Town Called Panic is released in cinemas on 8th October 2010
