The excitement surrouning Never Let Me Go is getting greater by the day and the movie is already being tipped as a possible Oscar outside as Keira Knightly. Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfied join forces to bring Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel to the big screen.
Kathy (Carey Mulligan), Tommy (Andrew Garfield) and Ruth (Keira Knightley) live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know.
They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart.
Now I must admit that Never Let Me Go is one of the movies that I’m personally looking forward to as Oscar movies season gets underway and it’s great to see a really talented British cast leading the way.
It’s been a while since we have seen Knightley on the big screen, The Duchess was her last outing and a movie well worth watching if you have a couple of hours.
As for Carey Mulligan well she is continuing her sudden rise to fame after her excellent turn in An Education last year, which saw her pick up her firs Oscar nomination.
As for Garfield well he will become a major household name over the next couple of years as he is all set to play Sipder Man in the reboot of the popular franchise.
