Russell Brand In Manchester Tonight…. Who’s Coming?

I know I’m the music writer, but I thought I’d share my plans for this evening with you as I sit here and eat my jacket potato with tuna, because, well quite simply, I think I’m going to explode with excitement.

Katy Perry’s fiancée (see, there’s the music connection) is rolling into Manchester tonight for a spot of stand up at the opera House as part of his Booky Wook 2 Tour, and guess who’s going…. Me!

I’ve loved Russell ever since he and Noel fielding acted up on that Big Fat Quiz of The Year a few Christmases back, and I cant wait to see what he’s like when he does little bits of stand up, reads extracts from his book and even has an interview with Matt Morgan!

Not only that but O.M.actual.G, fans can even ask Russell questions… I’ve already got about 10 in my head… Pick Me! Pick me!

Russell will also be calling at Bristol Hippodrome tomorrow night and Alexandra in Birmingham.

New True Grit Trailer

Joel and Ethan Coen are back in the new year with their movie true Grit, which brings together Oscar winners Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, Oscar nominee Josh Brolin and introduces new talent in the form of Hailee Steinfeld.

Despite bringing us A Serious Man last year the directing brothers return to the Western genre with their latest offering, which is already getting some Oscar attention.

To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with “true grit,” Reuben J. “Rooster” Cogburn.

Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character do not augment her faith in him.

Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search of Chaney.

They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes. The unlikely trio find danger and surprises on the journey, and each has his or her “grit” tested.

Ruth’s Tuesday Tweet

Some people REALLY need to chill out when it comes to reality TV… apparently folk have been sending Cheryl Cole death threats over her decision to axe Gamu Nhengu from the live shows. Get a life much?

OMG… first it was Katy Perry, then wannabe kook Rihanna (maybe) who decided to get hitched, and now it looks like the queen of bonkers herself, Lady GaGa might also be swanning down the aisle. What a debacle…

Robbie Williams how can you do this to us? First you get married to that Ayda Field bird, and now you’re on about starting a family?!?! Why can’t you just marry us?
