Oh No, Gamu Nhengu Releasing Christmas Charity Single

It looks like that bird Gamu Nhengu has gotten around her visa issues after blagging some music execs into letting her release a charity single just in time for Christmas.

Obviously not wanting to be outdone by the ‘proper’ X Factor finalists, the 18-year-old has recorded a charity single, had it produced by her old music teacher, and is taking on the Help For Heroes single released by the shows ‘real’ stars.

Considering everyone went mental with Cheryl Cole when she axed Gamu in favour of Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd, I’m wondering whether they’ll get behind Gamu on this track?

Although, with her actually due at the Immigration Court in Glasgow this Friday to appeal the decision not to renew her visa, she might not be able to enjoy the ‘success’ of her first release…

About Ruth

Word up! I am the music editor at FemaleFirst.co.uk. My favourite bands are Nightwish, Biffy Clyro and A Day To Remember. I do have rather biglove for the Now Thats What I Call Music CD's though. Katie Price annoys me but I love how she's made a name for herself by being annoying. That takes some work.

what an utter load of rubbish you have written Ruth. If you would bother to read up the facts first you will see that Gamu recordeded the single last year for the Aberlou Childrens Charity which is where all the money from the single is going to. As your very rude comments said she has not blagged her eay into anything, so please get your facts right next time. And its destined to be No 1

    Couple of inaccuries in your comment there Ruth;

She’s not got round her visa issues. This is a re-release of a song that Gamu recorded in 2007.

She’s not blagged any music execs, it’s being released by the charity.

It wasn’t produced by her music teacher it was produced by James Lang – her teacher wrote it.

It’s not going head to head with the Help for Heroes song. It’s up against the winner fo the show on the 13th December.

Other than that, you’ve got it spot on. :)

    Cheers,

    John

Not really bothered who gets to number 1 but what a nasty, petty article. Shame on you femalefirst.co.uk!

Your blog is called “Female First.” How about some solidarity with your gender? Whether “illegal” or not, Gamu is a human being, a young woman, with emotions, with feelings. Her mother brought them here in an attempt to give them a better life. Wouldn’t your mum do that for you? Wouldn’t you do that for your offspring? What crime has she commited exactly? Immigration rules are set by a bunch of old men wearing comical suits in the so called House of Lords. What do they know about the reality of what the cost of a loaf of bread is?
When someone in the train, or in a shop, or in an office is mean to you, do you think “why are some people so mean”? So why post such mean comments about Gamu? Totally unnecessary. Please spread love, and not hatred and cynicism. The world will be a better place that way.
(and before you say that “these foreigners” are flooding the UK, please read a little history and you will find that the English set out from as far back as 17th century to colonise the Americas, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent).

Oh my god! You’re all sad! Get a grip! No1 cares about Gamu anymore…it’s old news!!!

Gamu’s family were invited to Scotland because most scottish people want to live elsewhere. She as spent the most influencial part of her teenage there and is well liked and as lots of friends she as now shown the world she as a talent .So why not extend her visa and let her have a record cotract in this country ,if she is succesful she will pay 40% of her earnings back in to our tax system that can be a lot of money in the recording industry and mostly coming from exports .Her route to fame as been made painfully enough firstly some people saying there was autotuning cheating going off just because she is an outstandingly good singer then her badly handled exit from the xfactor then I don’t know why any details of her mum claiming benifits had to be publicised, wich as now led to her being a target for our countrys racist bigots and jealous morons to write nasty letters about. Gamu is a poor wee girl is barely 5 foot tall ouses charm carisma talent and love and never says a bad word about anybody. Now god bless her she is doing a charity record, the proceeds will go to our poor children .PLEASE GIVE GAMU A BREAK !!

I dont think much of FemaleFirst.co.uk. If Ruth is the music editor and can post so many inaccuracies in such a small article, and also to have a go at Gamu in my view, defies the logic of “Female First” . She opens with “Oh No Gamu releasing Christmas Charity Single” . Has Ruth heard the single yet and therefore can make a judgement on the quality of the single ? I think not. If I was them I would be looking for a new music editor.

Ruth, what a poor article, full of inaccuracies!
Did you research ANYTHING about Gamu/Aberlour or the origin of the single before you wrote your article.Hope you learn from your mistakes here.
You haven’t heard the last of the name GAMU in the music industry! If you are to have any future success as a music editor, you’d better ensure you are better informed.

  • eddie

get your facts right unlike you she is a star who has a lot of fans and her single is for charity who are you ?

  • Ali

I agree with the other comments here to be honest. Whilst I don’t want to be hypocritical and “hate” back at you Ruth, I have to say, for such a short article, you’ve made quite a few mistakes. If you want to be successful that’s a pretty big deal. Furthermore, it’s great to have character in your blogs but perhaps best not to have a bitchy one – certainly not “Female First” if that’s what you’re meaning to portray!

So Gamu Nhengu is releasing a Christmas sIngle to rival the X-Factor.

At least it finally answers Bob Geldof’s question of whether they know it’s Christmas

Victory Gin, thats all i’m saying…………

  • mamamia

I’ve got to say that was a bitchy article Ruth.
    Shame on you.

I agree with Edie, who do you think you are Ruthey girl. This girl has done you no harm and yet you want to run her down. The way that this country is being run and the fact that its getting harder to live and to make ends meat, im sure there will be a lot of people leaving this country for somewhere better. Will you be trashing them also, i daubt it. Your a sad person with no brain. Idiot!!
