Justin Bieber Visits UK. Pops Into Hospital. Holds Some Babies.

What is the first thing you need to do when promoting a new album? Sing a song on the X Factor? Check. Do a promotional interview on Radio One? Check. Pop into Great Ormond Street Hospital and hang out with folk not much younger than yourself? Check.

Yes, Justin Bieber is really working the publicity machine when it comes to trying to flog copies of his new album My Worlds – The Collection and to launch his book ‘First Step 2 Forever: My Story’ – yes, book, we LOL’d too.

That’s all we can say really. We are still a bit numb with laughing too much!

New Beastly Trailer

Beastly is a live action version of the classic tale Beauty and the Beast and will hit the big screen in the new year. The movie, which is directed by Daniel Barnzn, sees Alex Pettyfer join forces with Vanessa Hudgens.

Kyle Kingson has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak.

Prone to mocking and humiliating “aggressively unattractive” classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school’s extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion.

She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible.

Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle’s callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor.

As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer.

Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter, Lindy if she will consent to live in Kyle’s Brooklyn home.

Thus begins Kyle’s journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic

The Tempest Clip

The Tempest looks set to be one of the early must see movies of the year as Julie Taymor brings the Shakespeare classic to the big screen.

She brings together an all star cast of Helen Mirren, Russell Brand, Ben Whishaw, David Strathairn, Chris Cooper and Alfred Molina.

In Shakespeare’s fantastical thriller the magician Prospero orchestrates spirits, monsters, a grief-stricken king, a wise old councillor, two treacherous brothers and a storm at sea into a fantastical conspiracy bringing banishment, sorcery and shipwreck into the lives of two hapless lovers to stir and seal their fate.

Here Prospero takes female form as Prospera, giving her journey of vengeance and self-discovery a wholly new resonance. As Prospera breaks her magical staff against an entrancing volcanic landscape at the end of her heroic quest, this poignant story of love and forgiveness translates into a riveting and filmic mystical tale, for our own times.

The Tempest is released 4th March. Here is the first clip from the movie:

The Beaver Trailer

It has been a little up in the air whether the release of Mel Gibson’s latest movie The Beaver would go ahead after the actor faced some persona problems earlier this year.

The movie sees him team up with Jodie Foster, who directs and co-stars, and the first trailer for the film has premiered.

The Beaver – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life.

Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression.

No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track… until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

The X Factor : Cher’s Through… Is It A Fix?

The X Factor finalists were chosen last night, and as Mary Byrne got her marching orders over that blinking Cher Lloyd, the rumours that the show is a ll a big fix are rife once again.

Drespite Mary really giving it her all in the sing-off, the judges opted to save mouthy Cher after she put the waterworks on during her cover of Britney’s “Everytime”. Only one problem here… the TV listings stated that the act with the fewest public votes would be sent home. Clearly not.

Apparently the show bosses decided at the very last minute that there would be a sing-off between the bottom two acts, so Dannii, Simon and Cheryl all voted to save Cher. Convenient much?

A spokesperson for the show commented, “As the show evolves there are always changes in format.” What do YOU think? Does Cher even deserve to be in the final?
