Andrew Garfield may already be enjoying huge success with The Social Network – Oscar nomination anyone? But his star looks set to rise even further as the first image of him as Spider-Man has arrived.
Yes the British actor will lead an all star cast in the re-boot of the popular Spider-Man franchise after Tobey Maguire and filmmaker Sam Raimi left the project last year.
And while the movie may not have locked down a title yet we do have the first image of Garfield in the spidey suit.
The movie is directed by the perfectly named Marc Webb and also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
The new Spider-Man movie is set for a 4th July 2012 release. Take a look at the first picture from the film:
