Ok so it’s fair to say that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was not a patch on the first film – although I have to hold my hand up and say that I did quite enjoy it!!

Vowing to do better Michael Bay is back with a third movie in the very very successful franchise – who would have know that robots would this popular!

Source Code Clips

Duncan Jones is one of the most exciting British directors currently working in movies after his stunning debut Moon.

The filmmaker is back this week with his new movie Source Code, which sees him team up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan.

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.

In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the ‘Source Code,’ a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life.

With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

Source Code is released 1st April. Take a look at a couple of clips from the film:

The Conspirator Featurette

Robert Redford is back in the director’s chair later this year with his new movie The Conspirator – which follows the assassination of President Lincoln.

The movie boasts an all star cast of James Mcavoy. Robin Wright, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin Kline and Evan Rachel Wood.

In the wake of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State. The lone woman charged, Mary Surratt, owns a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth, and others met and planned the simultaneous attacks.

Against the ominous back-drop of post-Civil War Washington, newly-minted lawyer, Frederick Aiken, a 28-year-old Union war-hero, reluctantly agrees to defend Surratt before a military tribunal.

Aiken realizes his client may be innocent and that she is being used as bait and hostage in order to capture the only conspirator to have escaped a massive manhunt, her own son, John.

As the nation turns against her, Surratt is forced to rely on Aiken to uncover the truth and save her life.

The Conspirator is released 1st July. Take a look at a featurette that focuses on the assassination and the movie:

Tree Of Life Poster

Terrence Malick is back in the director’s chair later this year with the long awaited The Tree of Life, which stars Sean Penn and Brad Pitt.

The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s.

The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt).

Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.

Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

The Tree of Life is released 4th May. Here is the first poster for the film:

Brave Concept Art

Pixar have become the benchmark in animation movies in recent years – just last year Toy Story 3 became the first animated movie to break the $1billion barrier at the box office. This summer sees Cars return to the big screen but we are looking ahead a furthur twelve months when Brave will be hitting the big screen.

Brave will be the 13th movie from Pixar and they have, once again, assembled an impressive voice cast that includes Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane. The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer.

A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right.

Brave is released summer 2012. Here is the first concept art from the movie:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 Poster

Yes all you Potter fans this will be the last time that you are set to see Harry, Ron and Hermione on the big screen – but it looks set to go out with a bang.

In Part 2 of the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the Wizarding world escalates into an all-out war.

The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort.

It all ends here.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is released 15th July. We have a poster to wet your appetite.

Hanna Featurette

Joe Wright is back – and lets face it it is not before time – with his new movie Hanna.

Hanna (Ronan) is a teenage girl. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a solider; these come from being raised by her father (Bana), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland.

Living a life unlike any other teenager, her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin.

The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Blanchett).

As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.

The Hangover Part II Poster

Back in summer 2009 The Hangover was one of the biggest and yet unexpected hits – this time around it is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer.

Can Todd Philipps and co strike gold for a second time?

The boys are back as Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifianakis reprise their roles of Phil, Stu, Doug and Alan.

Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding.

After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch.

However, things don’t always go as planned.

The Hangover Part II is released 27th May. Take a look at the first poster for the movie.
