Happy Feet Two Featurette

Happy Feet Two hits the big screen this week – a piece of movie cheer as the festive season grows ever closer.

This movie comes a whopping five years after the original but George Miller is back in the director’s chair.

In this latest video we take you behind the scenes of the recording as the stars reveal their delight to be back for a sequel.

Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven – a penguin who can fly!

Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces.

Erik learns of his father’s ‘guts and grit’ as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures – from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals – to put things right.

Happy Feet Two is released 2nd December

New John Carter Images

John Carter looks set to be one of the first blockbuster type movies that we will get to feast our eyes on next year.

Taylor Kistch takes on the title role in what has the potential to be the biggest movie of his career so far.

He is joined by an all star cast that includes Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton, Lyn Collins and Mark Strong.

John Carter is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present.

The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins).

In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

John Carter is released 9th March

A cure for the craving of chocolate?

If you’re anything like me, when you’re craving chocolate you usually just give in to the temptation. Then feel guilty afterwards for eating it. Especially if it’s late at night, or early in the morning.

But new research suggests that there may be something we can do to stop this craving.

A brisk walk could be the answer to our diet problems and cravings.

Experts found that volunteers who left work for a 15-minute stroll ate fewer Malteasers or chocolate buttons than those who sat quietly.

The results, published in the journal Appetite, suggest brief bursts of exercise through the day could help to curb workplace snacking.

Researchers at the University of Exeter told the Daily Mirror: “Passive participants ate almost twice as much chocolate as those who exercised.

“This study suggests that a brief bout of physical activity can reduce ‘ad lib’ eating of chocolate in regular eaters.”

So, if you’re reading this at your desk considering a snack on something sweet, pick yourself up and go for a walk. It may do wonders for your diet.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol Clips

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is set to be one of the must see movies this Christmas as Tom Cruise returns to the role of Ethan Hunt for the first time since 2006.

And Cruise shows that he is not afraid of the high risk stunts as Ghost Protocol looks set to be the biggest and best Mission: Impossible movie to date.

And he is joined by an all star support cast as Jeremy Renner takes his career up a notch as he appears in the franchise for the first time.

Simon Pegg is back as Benji Dunn while Ving Rhames is also back as Luther Stickell. Other faces to look out for include Paula Patton and Tom Wilkinson.

The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization’s name.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is released 26th December

Desperate Scousewives… the verdict

Well, I watched last night with my mum, my sister and my brother. Or should I say that I watched through my fingers.

As much as I may like my accent, it sounds twenty times worse on recording, especially on TV, and especially when the ‘plazzy’ (plastic) accent is forced – we see this a lot with people from Birkenhead, otherwise known as Plazzy Scousers, if you’re in a foreign country with them, their faint Scouse accent is magnified ten-fold.

So, it wasn’t just the squeaky voices, it was the awfully scripted scenes, the very, very ‘Desperate’ girls and the fact that half of the cast aren’t even from Liverpool.

I was tweeting as I was watching last night, plus checking Facebook and the general consensus was – it’s awful. My friends, mostly from Liverpool, all agreed. I even got a text from a friend who lives in London, she thought the same and I gave another friend, from Birmingham, the permission to hurt me if I ever watch it again. He so kindly reassured me that that’s not how I come across – I pray that he wasn’t just saying that to spare my feelings.

The first episode is set around Juice FM’s Style Awards, and local ‘celeb’ Amanda Harrington is hosting an award this year; she was nominated last year, as she frequently told us throughout the episode, but she didn’t win.

We see Amanda and Chloe – Abbey Crouch’s cousin – walking through the City Centre in their rollers, a frequent thing in Liverpool. I will admit that I do it too. But that’s not the shameful part, it’s the people who ask to get a picture with the model. Cringe. Surely they were paid to do that?!

The first character we meet is Jodie, the beautician who is back from London and ready to ‘Grab Liverpool by the scruff of the neck’. Then there is the married gay couple who own the salon that Jodie will be working in, Chris and Mark. Joe – who I’m assuming is meant to be the equivalent to Mark Wright, a player in his own right and he can’t seem to shake off Layla. In my opinion, the most Desperate girl on the show, why on earth would she ask to get in the taxi with him at the end.

Then there’s Joe’s ex, Elissa, we find out that Joe cheated on her and they both of course still have feelings for each other… Watch this space. Elissa’s pal Jaiden – the most brutal blogger in Britain, sorry mate, never heard of you. But he redeem the show slightly at the end, telling Amanda: “Your extensions are shit.” Classic.

Then we have the beautiful blonde sisters Gill and Debbie, Joe’s mates Danny the DJ and Adam. George who we have yet to get anything from, all we know is he has money. Then there’s Sam, Danny’s ex and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge look-a-like. And last but not least, Sean – who wasn’t actually in last night’s episode. He’s a real life footballer and Abbey Crouch’s brother, so at least we can expect that he’s going to have some drama with the girls.

However, I will not be watching this. Thankfully it’s only an eight-part series and if the bad reviews keep on rolling in like they have, I can’t see a second series being made, thankfully.

What’s your opinion? Did you like it?

A Monster In Paris Images

Paris, 1910. A terrifying creature spreads fear upon the Capital. Emile – a shy projectionist in a movie theater – and Raoul – a colorful inventor – find themselves thrown into the Monster Hunt.

On this wild ride, they meet a big-hearted cabaret singer, an eccentric scientist assisted by a monkey, a ruthless Prefect of Police.

And a strange creature who might not be so frightening after all. What if, behind those deceiving appearances, the true Monster was not who you’d think it is?

A Monster In Paris is released 27th Janaury. Take a look at some pics from the movie:

Desperate Scousewives begins tonight….

It’s Monday November 28, it’s also the day that Desperate Scousewives is aired on E4 at 10pm.

The show came around off the back of The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea and Geordie Shore. They’ve took the cameras to another stereotypical city in hope to show viewers an ‘insight’ into their lives.

I am a regular viewer, and yes, an avid fan of TOWIE, but have failed to pick up really on the others. I just watch bits ‘n’ bobs, when my sister has it on. Even though I may watch these programmes, I’m not naive, I understand that ‘some’ – that really means all – of the scenes have been created purely for entertainment, but you can’t help but laugh when Joey Essex tries to learn about Bonfire Night – classic.

But this programme, I must admit, I dread. Mainly for the reason that I’m from Liverpool myself and expect the ‘reality’ series to bring out the worst of the city.

Yes, the girls love the fashion, make-up and fake tan and the guys love, well the girls, but there is so much more than that to my wonderful city and I hope that after all the years of trying to dispel the taunts, they don’t come flooding back with this show.

I can see myself watching through my fingers this evening.

I’ll be tweeting my thoughts @tarynleeza and I’ll have a review of the first show tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s ‘boss’!!

James Cameron on Titanic

James Cameron’s Titanic is an epic, action-packed romance set against the ill-fated maiden voyage of the R.M.S. Titanic, the pride and joy of the White Star Line and, at the time, the largest moving object ever built.

She was the most luxurious liner of her era — the ship of dreams — which ultimately carried over 1,500 people to their death in the ice cold waters of the North Atlantic in the early hours of April 15, 1912.

In a brand new featurette James Cameron discusses the motivation and processes behind the re-mastering and forthcoming re-release of Titanic, which is scheduled to hit UK cinemas April 2012.

White Ribbon Campaign – are you supporting?

November 25 – National White Ribbon Day is used to raise awareness and encourage men to take more responsibility for reducing the level of violence against women.

Trees in Leeds will be wrapped in white ribbons later in a bid to encourage men to support the campaign.

A staggering 45 per cent of women in the UK have experienced some sort of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking and at least 80,000 are a victim to rape. Something needs to change.

The 16- day campaign starts with the international UN End Violence Against Women Day on 25 November and ends on the 10 December – UN Human Rights Day.

Different cities around the country do things to help support the campaign, find out what your’s is doing and join the force.
