Octomom

Octomom, Nadya Suleman, has been in the news this week after child services were called on her due to beliefs that she was neglecting her 14 children.

When I first heard this story I felt quite sorry for her, looking after 14 kids must be tough and she constantly gets it in the neck for having 8 more children when she already had 6.

That isn’t what annoys me though, it’s happened and there is nothing she can do about it, what does annoy me (and what changed my opinion on this story) is that Nadya is allegedly spending $520 on her haircuts when she’s admitted that she is often short of money and swears by food coupons.

I’m all for people having big families if they can provide for them but when they rely on benefits to feed their kids, it’s a different story.

So listen up Nadya, next time you think you need a trim, grab the kitchen scissors instead and use the money saved to wash, dress and feed your kids, by the looks of the pictures, they need it.

13-year-old girls could be able to get the pill without seeing their GP

Girls as young as 13 should be given the Pill without seeing their GP, according to experts.

It is expected that this could help to reduce the number of soaring underage pregnancies.

However, critics are warning that this will give them an increased chance of promiscuity.

NHS research into over-16s schemes in London suggested it should be introduced nationwide.

What do you think? Should girls as young as 13 be able to get this contraception without having speaking to anyone?

The authors of the proposal said the NHS should ‘consider expanding this service across London and nationally” and ‘consider providing the service to women under 16 years where appropriate’.

Silent House Clips

Horror movies have been a little hit and miss so far this year but Silent House looks set to chance all that – it really does look a very creepy and jumpy watch.

Elizabeth Olsen has had a great last twelve months and she moves into horror for the first time with this project as she teams up with Adam Trese and Eric Sheffer Stevens as well as directors Chris Kentis & Laura Lau.

And we have a couple of clips from the movie:

Chris Kentis and Laura Lau are the filmmaker behind 2003 horror movie Open Water and this is their first movie project since then.

Sarah, along with her uncle and father, prepare their long-time family summer home, recently violated by squatters, for sale.

But broken windows and cracks in the plaster are the least of their problems when they discover they are not alone and there’s more than just mold concealed behind the walls.

Over the course of 88 harrowing minutes, their idyllic isolated retreat is transformed into a site of horror as the family’s past returns to taunt then terrorize them, exposing a hidden and distorted history.

Silent House is released 4th May.
