The Voice Being Pre-recorded

Simon Cowell must be rubbing his hands together after Britain’s Got Talent won the ratings race last weekend after viewers turned over from the new show in town, The Voice, when it became apparent that Sunday nights ‘live show’ was pre-recorded.

Personally I am more a fan of The Voice and it doesn’t really bother me that they pre-recorded the show, I mean, I guess I’m a little ticked off because they said it would be live and it wasn’t but I wouldn’t have turned it over.

Seriously, if people get that annoyed over a TV show then they need to chill out!

I’m sure The Voice will learn from their mistakes and at least get the judges to change their outfits next time they pre-record it, either way I’ll still be watching.

Women can have their emergency contraception delivered to their door

Who would have thought that the day would actually come where you can have emergency contraception delivered to your door within two hours?!

Well, it’s now available to women who live in London.

Not only do they save themselves time by having it delivered, they can avoid the embarrassment of the face-to-face questioning at the chemist.

Thanks to DrEd, an online medical practice, and Shutl, the internet start-up that delivers what you want, women can now order the morning-after pill online and have it delivered to their front door in the time it takes to watch a chick flick.

DrEd’s founder, Amit Khutti, said “Our new service is helping patients get the most effective treatment possible. Clinically, emergency contraception works best the sooner it is taken. Also, our service negates the embarrassment that people often report when having to get the morning after pill in person. We’re also taking every effort to protect young people and avoid misuse. If the service is a success then we plan to roll out to other UK cities in due course.”

To protect minors, the service can only be used by those with a credit card and the online questionnaire screens to determine the applicant is of the appropriate age.

Commenting on the partnership, Tom Allason, CEO and founder of Shutl said “We’re delighted to be working with DrEd to make healthcare more accessible.  In particular, we are excited to see another business develop a highly compelling proposition on top of our platform and enabling delivery of what customers want, when they want it.”

What do you think of this? Would you consider using it?

New Prometheus Trailer

I have to admit that Prometheus is one of the movies that I am most looking forward to this summer, and after seeing some exclusive footage a few weeks ago I am even more excited.

But now the new trailer for the movie has been revealed and, I have to say, it is the best yet.

The movie marks the return to the sci-fi genre for director Ridley Scott in over thirty years and he has assembled a mighty fine cast.

Noomi Rapace leads her first big English speaking movie and she is joined by Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce.

With Prometheus Scott creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe.

There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus is released 1st June

Skyfall Istanbul Press Conference

Skyfall is one of the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2012 as Daniel Craig returns to the role of 007 for the first time since Quantum of Solace.

Craig, director Sam Mendes and the rest of the Bond gang are in Istanbul currently filming the movie and they spoke in a press conference about the film:

Bond’s loyalty to M is tested in this latest instalment of the hit franchise as her past comes back to haunt her.

As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

This is the first outing as a 007 director for Oscar winner Mendes as he reunites with Craig for the first time since Road To Perdition.

Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris are all on the cast list for what promises to be the best Bond yet.

Skyfall is released 26th October.

Val Kilmer Discusses New Movie

Val Kilmer is set to return with his new movie The Fourth Dimension, which brings together a trilogy of directors Harmony Korine from the US, Russia’s Alexsei Fedorchenko and Polish-born Jan Kwiecinski.

Each of the directors delivers their vision on a higher existence and takes their character on this journey

In this new interview Val discusses the movie and the character:

Grolsch Film Works is funded by the Dutch beer Grolsch and The Fourth Dimension was created in collaboration with VICE Films.
