First Picture of Lindsay as Liz

I wrote a few weeks back about my disappointment at Lindsay Lohan being cast as Elizabeth Taylor in the new film biopic of the actress’ life, Liz and Dick, but I’m amazed to say that after seeing the first pictures of a transformed Lindsay, I’m pleasantly surprised and excited.

I never in a million years thought Lindsay could pull off the looks of Liz, but in the latest photos to be released, she looks amazing.

God knows how long she was in hair, make-up and wardrobe for but they’ve managed to do a fantastic job.

All I can hope now is that Lindsay can give a good performance and this will hopefully give her acting career a much needed boost after her recent mishaps.

Anthony Hemingway Discusses Red Tails Featurette

Red Tails flies into cinemas this week as Anthony Hemingway makes his feature film directorial debut with the George Lucas produced movie.

In this new video Hemingway talks about the difficulties that he faced casting the movie and his relationship with the actors:

The movie stars Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, David Oyelowo. Nate Taylor and Tristan Wilds and tells the story of a crew of African American pilots in the second world war.

1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options — including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program.

Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage.

Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country — and the fate of the free world.

Red Tails it out now.

Wreck-It Ralph Trailer

Walt Disney Animation Studios have teamed up with Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore to bring Wreck-It Ralph to the big screen.

And while the movie may not be out until the beginning of 2013 we have the first trailer from the movie for you to take a look at:

Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer), the ‘good guy’ star of their game who always gets to save the day.

But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy.

He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

On his quest, he meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch) from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty.

But it’s the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade.

Will Ralph realise his dream and save the day before it’s too late?

Wreck-It Ralph Trailer is released February 2013

Diabetes care second rate

A specialist health lawyer has raised concers over a new report warning that care provided to patients with diabetes is in a ‘state of crisis’.

Diabetes UK has revealed how less than 50% of people diagnosed with the condition enjoy even the bare minimum level of care, in its State of the Nation 2012 report.

“According to this latest report by Diabetes UK, the level of care recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is enjoyed by less than half of people with diabetes. That is a worrying statistic,” said Neil fearn who is Head of Clinical Negligence at Simpson Millar.

According to Diabetes UK, the increase in diabetes-related conditions is to blame on a lack of regular tests and check-ups.

Neil added: “People with diabetes are at much higher risk of amputation, blindness, kidney failure and stroke. It is absolutely vital that the care they receive matches the seriousness of these health threats.”

“There are many things that people who suffer from diabetes can do to manage their condition but, to do so effectively, they need the full support of the NHS,” said Neil.
