Stop Being Mean To Me iPlayer!

I love on demand television. Nuts to HD (which I also adore), this is the best thing about modern TV. It even outweighs recording for me, it’s just something I just couldn’t imagine doing without anymore.

So, having finally found time to sit down and watch last weekend’s Wallander (which was fantastic by the way) only for the new iPlayer app thing on Virgins Tivo box.

This is one of the numerous gripes that I have with Virgin’s new premium telebox, but the iPlayer on it is terrible. Slow, prone to breaking up, overly buffering and having an awful rewind function, it’s a massive step back on what was offered before.

While the service is still fantastic, the wrapper’s horrendous.

Has anyone else had this issue, or is it just Virgin Media being abusive to me again?

Jessic Simpson to launch bridal line

Jessica Simpson is planning to add wedding dresses to her long list of successful fashion ventures.

The new mum is looking to add a bridal line to her growing list of enterprises.

In Touch Weekly have reported that Jessica will use the design she is creating for her own wedding dress as the inspiration behind the line.

So, when it’s revealed, most likely in a huge magazine spread, we can expect women to be searching franticly for look-a-likes.

Like her previous fashion collections, the bridal line will cater for women of all sizes.

Jessica has been pictured recently on the way to exercise classes in a bid to lose her baby weight. Good luck Jessica!!

Tortoise In Love Clip

Tom Mitchelson teams up with Alice Zawadzki and Tom Yates of Tortoise In Love which hits the big screen tomorrow.

Guy Browning is in the director’s chair for the movie and he is making his debut with the comedy – he also penned the script.

And we have a clip from the movie for you to take a look at:

Tom, gardener at the big house, is not a fast mover with women. In fact he’s glacially slow. When beautiful Polish au pair Anya arrives for the summer, Tom falls for her catastrophically like the felling of one of the giant trees he cares for in the manicured grounds.

Tom’s adviser in matters of the heart is young Harry, abandoned by the rich owners of the house to run wild in the gardens. Harry’s secret wish is for the Red Arrows to appear at the village fair: Tom’s is to win the heart of Anya. Both seem impossible dreams until the whole village decides to lend a hand.

Thick snow covered the little Oxfordshire village of Kingston Bagpuize when local writer Guy Browning decided the village should make a film. Almost four hundred villagers volunteered to make the film happen and the village rapidly became the unlikely setting for one of the freshest and funniest films of the last few years.

The entire cast and crew stayed with villagers, the Women’s Institute organised catering on a vast scale and props, driving, costumes, make-up and a thousand other logistical tasks were all undertaken by a highly organised and frighteningly motivated army of villagers.

Tortoise In Love is released 13th July

Magic Mike Premiere Image

Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey delighted fans in London earlier this week as they graced the red carpet for the European premiere of Magic Mike,

Directed by Steven Soderbergh the movie is based on Tatum’s experiences of being a stripper before he became an actor.

Both Tatum and McConaughey play strippers in the movie alongside Brit actor Alex Pettyfer.

They both arrive at the Mayfair Hotel for the premiere with their other halves as Jenna Dewan and Camila Alves.

To a rebellious 19-year-old kid (Pettyfer) looking for independence from his family, Magic Mike (Tatum) seems like the perfect role model: he’s got a nice car, a nice apartment, and a seemingly endless supply of women.

What’s his secret? He’s a male stripper, and when the kid dives headlong into Magic Mike’s world, his mad dancing skills and hunger for excitement make for an unforgettable summer…
