Ruth’s Friday (Gaga) Fright

Obviously Lady Gaga is a woman who never likes to be snapped in jeans and a t-shirt, in face, we’re not even sure if she knows what denim is! So when we heard she was going to be gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, we knew it would be interesting.

If you thought Susan Boyle was going to win this year’s Britain’s Got Talent then think again, as Stavros Flatley, the father and son dancers from Cyprus, are the competitors with the biggest chance to beat Susan Boyle in this Saturday’s finale. Place your bets now!

This may be the funniest news I’ve ever heard; Tango are to launch a fake tan. Yes, the soft drinks giant want to give you the chance to be tango’d with their very own bright orange fake tan. You know that Jodie Marsh and Michelle Heaton have already pre-ordered their bottles, so what’s stopping you?!

For all you Whovian’s out there the popular sci-fi hit Doctor Who is on the verge of making it to the big screen after the BBC announced that a script is being worked on. So will it be David Tennant or Matt Smith in the role of the Timelord? However big screen adaptations of TV shows don’t always work so while it could great it could also be a total disaster!

Ruth’s Thursday Roasting

Our jaw almost hit the floor when we saw these pictures of Holly Valance locking lips with a dashing young man.. but you’ll be even more surprised when you hear the story behind it.

Susan Boyle, the woman we all loved, stunned fans when she threw a huge tantrum after watching Britain’s Got Talent in a hotel bar.

Despite the fact that everyone and their grandmother has been talking about the Katie and Peter split recently, it would appear that Peter Andre himself is planning to keep schtum over the separation.

That Jesus Luz is a bit hungry for fame isn’t he?! The male model/Madonna’s toyboy has now gone on Brazilian television, to call the queen of pop “beautiful” and then promptly deny there is anything between them. In fact, they’re just friends apparently. Yeah Right.

It’s nice to know that even supermodels are struggling in this recession, after all how else could you explain Cindy Crawford becoming the new face of SPAR?! She’s not exactly the first person you think of when you pop down your local convenience store is she?

So Dan Aykroyd has dropped some hints as to what will happen in the forthcoming Ghostbusters movie. And it will be a girl that leads the team I’m all for progression and all but this is a film franchise that should be left well alone, it really is the old team or nothing! I foresee a major disaster with this movie mark my words.

Ruth’s Wednesday Handful

You’d think Fergie would take her music career very seriously these days, but apparently not, as she swigged bottles of wine whilst recording The E.N.D, so she could show fans what it’s like to party with the Black Eyed Peas. Very professional Fergielicious… what a great role model you are to teens

Prison bound rapper T.I. played a rousing farewell gig to fans on Sunday as he winds down his career before embarking on a year-long stint behind bars. Bye Bye T.I, have a nice, Um, break.

Ok so Inglorious Basterds may have been grabbing all of the Cannes headlines but it wasn’t Tarantino’s war movie that scooped the Palme d’Or as Michael Haneke went under the radar to claim the top prize.

There are not many people who would turn down Roberto Cavalli, especially in favour of Marks and Spencer but Myleene Klass has done just that. The TV presenter said no to becoming the face of Cavalli’s designer labels sticking with the high street favourite. Roberto’s not giving up yet though.

Victoria Beckham isn’t known for smiling much but when she does it’s apparently fake. The former Spice Girl was voted to have the fakest smile, after winner Gordon Brown. Oh dear!

Our new favourite indie rock band comes in the form of the delicious Carolina Liar who release their debut single Show Me What I’m looking for on June 1. As a infectious slice of pop rock joy, you would be forgiven for thinking that this was the latest single from The Killers with a couple of Christmas-y sounding bells added to the chorus for that bit of extra kick.

Peaches Geldof and Paris Hilton were the talk of Cannes last week, all but snogging on some of the pictures which surfaced from the event, and now it’s rumoured that they’re planning a collaboration together. Yep, Peaches is going to model Paris’ new hair accessories apparently, which we’ll sure will turn out just great. Yawn.

Ruth’s Monday Mumble

As Eminem struts back onto the scene with his first album in five years, everyone is holding their breath to see if it can actually do as well as we all hope. I mean lets face it, back when I was wearing combat trousers and studying for my GCSE’s back in the day, Eminem was the soundtrack to my education and a way out for my teenage angst, but the question that hung over my head, was would he still appeal to me, now that the genre of my music interest had changed?

Amy Winehouse’s style is questionable at the best of times but PPQ seem to think she’s something as a style icon. The label is teaming up with Amy to create a fashion collection. We wonder if it will include string vests and blood stained ballet pumps.

If someone told me the secret to looking youthful was to gobble down a load of cookies, then I’d think they were clearly off their rocker. However, with Reese Witherspoon and Courtney Cox on board for this crazy diet, maybe I should reconsider and head down to my local Millie’s…

Robert Downey Jr may have been a shock choice for the role of Sherlock Holmes but, after seeing the trailer, it looks set to be one of the best films of 2009. Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary sleuth makes it to the big screen at the end of the year but take a look at the first trailer.

Ruth’s Sunday Special

When FemaleFirst heard that Blazin Squad were planning to make a comeback, we thought baggy jeans, oversized t-shirts and those funny hand gestures that all the rap stars seemed to be doing these days. But as the lads were planning on unveiling a more grown up, edgy look, we thought it was only right that we gave the lads a bit of a makeover to prepare them for their foray into the world of ‘grown up’ music.

She spends most of her time in bikinis so it’s no surprise that Heidi Montag is now designing a swimwear range. Heidi’s already had one not so successful go at designing so we don’t imagine great things from this collection.

So The Saturdays have become the new face and legs of Veet- what a shock! Good god, if there was such a thing as a PR match made in heaven, then it would be this one, as the band spend so much time flashing their legs, it was only a matter of time before they made a profession out of it.

Terminator Salvation may be one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer but the movie has not gone down well with the critics. Er, McG sorry to break this to you pall but you may not be doing a sequel!

Katie Price and Peter Andre’s split is starting to get serious as Pete has now met with lawyers to discuss a divorce. Hmm we’re not so sure it was all a publicity stunt now, things are starting to look permanent.

I’m sure we all secretly hold a touch for the gorgeous Michael Buble but now it looks like we might have to dose it with cold water as it has emerged that he’s dating a stunning Argentine actress he met at a concert in Buenos Aires.

Agyness Deyn must be feeling pretty smug at the minute. Not only has she landed a modelling gig with Uniqlo for the summer, but now she’s had a song written about her as well, by none other than BFF Jodie Harsh. Must suck to be her at the moment…

Actress Lucy Gordon has a promising future cut tragically short after taking her own life this week. FemaleFirst takes a look at a career that was on the up.

Ruth’s Friday Frolic

We are sending out our congratulations to the gorgeous Kris Allen after he was crowned the USA’s American Idol last night, beating off stiff competition from the uber-cool Adam Lambert. Well done to both of you sexyfaces!

We thank God that Rihanna has finally seen sense and got herself a new bit of arm candy in the form of actor-turned-rapper Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham. well done Rihanna love, keep it up!

Is there anything that Lady Gaga can’t do? Dressing up like a super cool woman – check. Bringing out two of the biggest sings in the past 12 months – check. Being accused of looking like a prostitute – check. Okay, maybe we wouldn’t like the last one to apply to us, but Lady Gaga seems to have added another string to her ever expanding resume after turning up on Dancing With The Stars.

More bad news for Katie Price following her split from Pete. The glamour model’s perfume is the least popular celebrity scent. We can’t say we’re surprised. Who would want to smell like fake tan and horses?

Another day, another celebrity putting their foot in it. Step forward Jessica Biel, who has commented that her good looks are a problem when it comes to being considered for serious acting roles, and she’s not being offered them as a consequence. Who else just thinks it’s because she’s a naff actress?!

Alright so Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will they won’t they continued last night as the couple appeared together on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festivalto promote Pitt’s new movie Inglorious Basterds. Directed by Quentin Tarantino the movie, which is competed for the Palme d’Or has split the critics, well it wouldn’t be Tarantino without a bit of controversy.

We all need a bit of advice from a good role model from time to time, and if you’re trying to make it in the rap or hip hop business… who better to give you a helping hand than the legendary Busta Rhymes? Well he’s been dishing out pearls of wisdom to all and sundry, so get your mitts on some kids!

Now, forgive us for thinking that Katie Price wasn’t one of Mel B’s biggest fans after finding out she used to share a bed with hubby Peter Andre; so needless to say, we were confused to learn that Mel is now trying to get the pair back together. Who are we kidding? these Z-Listers will do anything for fame!

What is worse than getting your house burgled? Getting your vintage shoe and Chanel collection stolen in the process, like poor Rachel Bilson. Fortunately most of us won’t have that problem thanks to a significant lack of Chanel!

Don’t you hate it when celebs make out that they don’t care about fashion or looking good, when they so blatantly do?! Step forward Megan Fox, who apparently doesn’t follow the trends and doesn’t care what people think. Spare me…

Sequels tend to get worse as they go along right? The original is always the best yes? Well it would seem that Ben Stiller’s new movie Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian may have just bucked that trend.
