Karly Ashworth Talks Accessories

Hello everyone!

So, as it’s summer and we’re all planning out killer outfits for the season, it’s important to remember that we need to accessorise in order to add that extra je ne sais quoi to any outfit!

Accessories play such a big role in putting together our favourite outfit and they are an easy way to spice up our favourite look! It’s simple girls, accessories are by far the easiest way to glam up that old dress or even everyday office wear.

When it comes to jewellery this season, I am absolutely loving the all out bold statement pieces; large, colourful and chunky is in at last… ‘Halleluja!’ and you can team them with almost any outfit! Stacked bangles are a favourite of mine and as the floral maxi dress is back, I am loving these wooden styles oversized bangles from Topshop to go with mine.

For spring, handbags should stand out from your outfit! The brighter the better, it should however, be vivid enough that you will be able to co ordinate with other bright colours or prints. The brand new Paris/Shanghai collection by Chanel is one of my favourites at the moment with cute little clutches covered in brightly coloured sequins… they are absolutely dazzling to say the least! And another favourite of mine has to be this blue Hermes birkin handbag, every lady has GOT to love aHermes handbag! This gorgeous colour is perfect to mis-match with almost anything!

And finally, with festival season strongly upon us, I am a HUGE fan of the whole festival / rock chick look so do enjoy donning the old headband. With almost every design imaginable from studded to ones that match your denim and even ones with massive flowers attached to flatter your maxi, its safe to say even the simplest of headbands can really pull your whole outfit together!

Until next time…
Stay beautiful.

Karly Ashworth : Big Brother Is Back!

It is officially time for our summer to start ladies and gentlemen… Big Brother 11 is here! I can honestly say I am that excited I could actually wee my pants!

The Big Brother producers have really gone all out this year to make it the best BB ever, especially since the 2009 recession left (my) Big Brother house filled with uncomfortable seating, boxes and a tiny garden. That place seem so inferior now looking at that these new housemates will be getting to hang around in for the summer. With a swish open plan living area, HUGE garden and gorgeous décor this really is going to be just AMAZING!

Around 80 housemates are sat around, twiddling their thumbs as they nervously await their fate on tonight’s Big Brother Launch show, and I can tell you know, that waiting around! I mean, even when you know you’re a housemate, is one of nerves and excitement and then a little bit more nerves!

To ensure this final series of the fly on the wall show goes out with a bang, the producers have some twists and tricks up their sleeves with a chance for ex BB housemates to battle it out to become the ultimate housemate! The public will be able to vote for the ex housemates they want back in, so if you want to see this feisty Scottish lass back in then get me back in there! All details are on the official Channel 4 website!

I am so grateful and happy I got to be a part of this FABULOUS TV show, it really was the best experience of my life, so a huge thank you to all (especially the producers who picked me!) and I cannot wait for it all to start again this year! BRING.IT.ON!!

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

Karly Ashworth : Cheating On The Cheaters

That gut wrenching feeling: Your heart momentarily stops, pounds uncontrollably and then… the feeling of ultimate sickness. The feeling you get when you know your fella is playing away. We’ve nearly all felt it ladies, and for those of you lucky enough not to have experienced how this feels, I hope you never have to!

Most can never fully get over something as devastating as this. Take Jennifer Aniston for example, she still wonders if she good enough for anyone, all of her current relationships seem to be suffering and she even admits to having very low self esteem after her ex-hubby Brad Pitt strayed with his Mrs & Mrs Smith co star Angelina Jolie.

Mr Pitt is not the only unfaithful guy to date, in fact, the number of high profile males cheating nowadays is at an all time high – Ashley Cole, Tiger Woods & Ronan Keating just to name a few! So what is it with men being unfaithful? In my experience they often risk a perfectly good relationship on a one night stand with women your cat wouldn’t even want to drag in!  The conclusion is, That the men themselves are so insecure about dating the beautiful women they have, they find security in another. An ego boost if you like.

The question we really need to ask ourselves is, do two wrongs make a right? A group of women have now come up with a concept of a dating site which aids to help women who have been cheated on to cheat back! The creators of gleedem believe that the key to happiness for victims of adultery is adultery itself and as a result, the site is now being touted as ‘women’s answer to matrimonial bliss’.

Regardless of what happens in a relationship, it’s always vital to remember what brought you both together in the first place rather than putting emphasis on what is tearing you apart. Relationships aren’t easy, they are made to be worked on. As soon as you loose respect for your partner, the relationship is lost.

I think it’s important to keep the spark alive whoever you are… okay, so movie stars, football players and other people in the public eye may be subject to more temptation than most, but only if they are actively looking for it in the first place! We are all exposed to temptation, its everywhere, but its YOUR choice whether to act upon it or not.

Since when did dating become rocket science? I don’t understand unfaithful people, either stay in a relationship or play the field! Make a decision.

Until next time, Keep it in your pants!

Karly Ashworth : “Summer Roots Are In!”

Never has there been a day when I’ve been so happy to hear that the latest hair trend to grace our red carpet is dark roots! Yes ladies, you heard me right… no more weekly trips to the hairdresser, although they may not be too happy about this, but my purse and I certainly are!

Being naturally dark means the upkeep of my blonde hair is a complete headache, as I’m sure many of you blondes out there know all too well, so I am over the moon to heat that this is soon to be a thing of the past as the roots are growing in fast and I’m loving it!

The hair care business is always launching new and fascinating trends, and despite the fact that having dark roots has always been one of the worst fashion faux pas it seems that we can finally get away with letting it grow!

Remember though ladies, you can‘t just leave your hair unkempt now, none of this “I don’t need to do my roots so I’m not going to bother styling it either”attitude. Proper volume and styling is the key to pulling off this fabulous look, so flash your fashion-forwardness with a hairdo that combines an easy attitude and style.

Although this hairstyle may look out of place in a ball gown, a funky relaxed style will pull this look off perfectly, and letting your hair grow out is the simplest way to achieve the most natural effect. Wavy and loose hairstyles illustrate best effect of this hairstyle, so wearing your hair in waves or just with a simple side or middle part is the secret to this carefree summer trend.

Celebrities find it their duty to follow the new trends, and dark roots make no exception, some might even stick to this trick for years to accentuate their hair colour and the contrast between the two shades.

If you like this look and fancy a break from the hairdressers for a while, ask your hair stylist to create fake grown out roots in a shade that is the closest to your natural hair colour. Whether you like it longer as an inch-and-a-half-long or shorter, depending on your personal style, the effect will be cool and relaxed.

I’m telling you now girls, as soon as my roots have grown long enough to become stylish, I’ll be sure to tweet you fashionista’s a picture! www.twitter.com/mskarlyashworth

Until next week!

Karly Ashworth : ‘What’s Your Virginity Worth?!’

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all loving the sunshine in the UK and looking forward to a great summer!

After hearing a very surprising story this week, I was glad to see that it was thumbs down and legs crossed for the Women of Melbourne when asked about a local documentary-makers idea: Two women’s virginity for money.

Yup, you heard right, it’s like modern-day prostitution wrapped up in a little television-friendly pink bow! I couldn’t believe my ears!! A bloke called Justin Sisely is after making his name in telly at the expense of two virgins – by giving them  $20,000 to be sold at auction in the US before spending the night with the lucky winning bidder.

Shocking as it may seem, the fact that Justin is going to take the ladies to the US for the live in camera auction means that he can escape the potential prostitution prosecution offences here in Victoria, Australia! How on Earth can this be deemed good TV viewing? To me, this guy just sounds like a pimp with his ‘documentary maker’ mask on who thinks he can make what is essentially just selling sex, look like a viable research project. I sit here and wonder what his cut is going to be in all this?!

Not only is the whole concept wrong from the start… I am furious that it all seems a bit prejudiced towards women – why is it that only women’s virginity is for sale? Is it worth more than a mans? I just don’t get it! Now don’t get me wrong, I am totally against selling your body for a price but it‘s not my decision is it? I suppose if the ladies are willing to and were going to loose their virginity in a much less exciting fashion, then we cant call it “prostitution” can we?

The only concern I have is, how many women are still virgins? Okay I know there are bound to be a few out there, but the number of ‘entrants’ for this documentary are likely to be younger girls who think of the money and not the repercussions of their actions. They will be seen on TV giving away their innocence for a wad of cash – what about when they go for a job at 25? That ‘tag’ will stay with them for the rest of their lives, whether we like to admit to it or not.

Whilst I think the idea of this TV show see’s us exploring a very taboo subject, I’m known for my honest brutality and you know what, as much as we like to think it’s so wrong for these ladies to do this, 90% of our first times were probably 100 times worse than this guys idea! At least if you were selling it for $20,000 you would be too busy thinking about what you were going to spend that fat cheque on rather than how terrible the sex is, and if it was really that bad, you could cry away in your brand new Range Rover…

Tell me ladies (and men) what do you think of it? Will it ever be right to sell your body for a lump sum, do circumstances define whether it’s right or wrong

Karly Ashworth Gets Nude With Feminine & Flirtatious Fashion

So “What’s in this Spring / Summer?” I hear you all cry… after all, it’s almost payday and we need to update our summer wardrobe… Well, I am happy to say that Nude colours for 2010 are HOT!

Fleshy tones have been extremely popular in footwear and makeup over the last few seasons, and at long last, it has finally made its way into apparel, which I am absolutely delighted about! So much so, that I just bought my first pair of flesh-coloured, sky scraper Toni Bianco heels last week and they are absolutely stunning!

You know, the great thing about nude footwear is that you can wear them with anything; from your trusty old sidekick – the little black dress – to a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, you will always be ready to look show-stopping whatever the occasion! Not only that, but having a fleshy tone on your feet elongates the legs to make them look extra long, so even us little shorties can pull off that supermodel look!

These neutral colours are so diverse and easy to wear, but it’s also very important to know how to wear nude properly without appearing starkers! So, the first rule is to make sure you pick out the right kind of fabric; anything too tight will appear like you have an extra layer of skin, and we don’t want that now do we!?

They should drape or hang from the body, this should be easy to find as sheer fabrics are also big at the moment, especially since the look for spring 2010 is light and feminine, but try not to look too girly by teaming it up with some contrasting accessories, killer heels and a sprinkling of attitude on top! Below are a few of my favourite high street picks & some cheeky nude dresses from my favourite  designer Versace.

So start hitting that high street ladies, or even have a look in your wardrobe – you’re bound to have something in there that fits the bill, after all, nude is seen as a neutral shade so I’m sure there will be a few items worth saving in there somewhere!

If you haven’t got any old threads hanging in that wardrobe of yours, why not have a peep in your underwear drawer? Yes ladies you heard me right, underwear is now fashionable as outerwear… So get those bodysuits and corsets out because they are in!

You may have seen on Big Brother launch night last summer, I actually wore a black corset from Agent Provocateur, teamed with leggings and minimal jewellery, sounds daring I know, but corsets can give a sophisticated yet fun & sexy look.

So it’s official ladies, its time to get nude!!

Karly’s Fashion Picks For Summer 2010

So, festival season is upon us and now is the only time of year when wellies are fashionable! This absolutely is my favourite time of year, as fashion is an undeniable part of the festival charisma.

We often look to the likes of Kate Moss, Fearne Cotton and Daisy Lowe for our festival getup inspiration but for all you lovely ladies, look no further than your local high street for your campsite chic outfits. I mean, they probably will be ruined after a weekend of drinking, partying and camping right?!

Just when you thought it would stay in your parent‘s closets forever, ripped denim is making a comeback year and it is sexier and more revealing than ever; whether it be hotpants or skinny jeans, match them with fringed accessories and sheer tops, to give a dressed yet very casual look.

And remember, floral prints are also in this year and can be teamed with a waistcoat or oversized shirt as layering is big in the world of festival fashion at the moment… I particularly like the washed denim gilets that are out at the moment.

If you’re still panicking then don’t, Topshop (my favourite high street store) has a whole collection dedicated to the ‘festival’ period and they claim they can ‘keep you chic in the mud.’ so if you’re stuck for what to wear, TS, with its floral maxi dresses, studded bags and bracelets is sure to have you looking tip top!

If you’re worried about covering up your rugged barnet after two night of roughing it in a tent, don’t worry about that either, as I’m big on fringed scarves & straw trilby hats for accessorising… we’ll have you looking dapper in no time!

I think this kind of slouchy, casual festival fashion is fantastic as you can leave your hair and makeup minimal & still look great! Being in Oz at the moment has really got be rocking the wavy beach look, and it is so easy to get that ‘just come back from a day of fun at the beach’ effect, I normally just leave my hair to dry with a little leave-in conditioner & hairspray. Tying it up in a bun whilst it is drying also creates a waved look when its down, or even a few plaits if you are feeling really adventurous!

With the sun shining back home, all you should need is a touch of bronzer on your cheeks and a little lip gloss to give you that golden sunkissed festival glow. Tinted moisturisers are great as you will gradually build up a bronzed colour, so this should save you from having to apply a full face of makeup every day!

So ladies… Get your wellies out and stick your Wayfarers on. It’s time to party!

Birthday Girl Down Under

Hey guys,

So, this week I celebrated my 22nd Birthday right here in Australia! God how time flies when you are having fun! Exactly this time last year, I was sitting on a plane, on my way to Australia…

The plan was to jump on a plane and see where life took me, however, that didn’t quite work out as I thought it would, as just a few weeks later I had a call from the Big Brother producers telling me I was a housemate in BB10, and needless to say, I turned around, hopped back across to the UK and had my life changed in a VERY big way! Well, I say I turned around, I did spend all of 24 hours in Oz, as the BB team booked me on a flight the very next day and *poof,* there I was right there on your TV screens just a few short weeks later! But that’s a whole different story!

This birthday was just a little less dramatic to say the least, but none the less exciting… I was treated to the most gorgeous Dinner at the fabulous Nuevo37, a Spanish restaurant situated in the Docklands area of the City, with its Michelin starred chef and stunning decor, it certainly beat the dried up aeroplane food I was eating this time last year. So obviously, I decided to take full advantage of the night and stepped out in my little black dress and killer heels!

To be perfectly honest with you (and don’t laugh!) I usually don’t like to try new foods, I like to stick to what I know, you cant go wrong there can you? But eventually I let my friends order for me and ended up trying a number of authentic tapas – everything from sautéed tiger prawns to oven roasted capsicum. My, my, I really did have the best night.

Of course, being the party girl that I am, the fun doesn’t stop there either! I have organised a night out at the weekend with friends, so if you’re in Oz and have your dancing shoes on, come party… I mean who says you only need to have one birthday a year?!

Obviously being away from my friends and family again this year was tough for me and I found myself getting really emotional reading the cards from them all – especially the one my baby sister managed to write herself! – But it just hits home how much they have been there for me over the past year and how often they have stood by me no matter what.

I think it is so important to have people like that in your life, being on Big Brother has shown a lot of peoples true colours, and in a sense I am extremely grateful for that as I am now left with the people who really care about me whilst at the same time highlighting the importance of surrounding yourself with loyal people.

My friends and family mean the world to me and even though I couldn’t celebrate my birthday with them, they still managed to make sure my day was special, and that truly means something to me.

Of course I cant forget the fans, I honestly lost count of how many birthday wishes I received on Twitter, and I think its so thoughtful of people to take the time out of what they are doing to wish me a Happy Birthday! So a big Thank You to you all.

I really did have the best Birthday here in OZ, thanks to all the special people in my life who made my day so perfect!

Until next time!

Karly Ashworth Talks Cheryl Cole & WAG’s

It seems like such a distant memory when we think back to the Girls Aloud girlies auditioning for Popstars: The Rivals. When Cheryl was still a young girl with just hopes and dreams… I bet she never could have imagined what was destined to become of her in years to come! From this young girl Cheryl has blossomed into a successful, independent woman, one in which we can all look up to.

One thing I really respect about Cheryl is the way in which she distanced herself from the dreaded tag of being a W.A.G…. although she married a very successful, high profile footballer and was spotted regularly socializing with other ‘WAG’ pals, she pushed herself to be successful in her own right and became famous for her own talent rather than being pushed into the background as a piece of ‘bling’ on some footballers arm.

Although many women did not agree with Cheryl’s decision to stand by her husband after it was first exposed that he had been unfaithful, I have to give it to her, it takes a stronger woman to stay and forgive you man and to keep working on your marriage than it does to simply pack up and walk away! It’s just a shame some men don’t see a good thing when they have it. I know footballers have a reputation for ‘playing the field’ but with news about Ashley cheating AGAIN, I couldn’t help but find myself thinking ‘If Cheryl Cole gets cheated on, what hope do the rest of us have?!’

But good riddance to bad rubbish I  say and I am happy that Cheryl has decided that now is the time to forget about him, and focus on herself!

So, after a busy year, Cheryl has raced up the ladder of success and with collaborations with will.i.am and the keen interest from both the public and industry in America, her music career is yet to soar. Not only that, but I’m sure many other aspects of her career will take off too.

Cheryl has been recognised as a style icon and revered as a fashionista, I know that I am always keen to see what Cheryl is wearing next, and what hair style/accessories she will be donning and I’m sure all you ladies are the same! Her down to earth charm, inner and outer beauty and the sympathy from women all over the country has seen her popularity grow and she definitely has a place in my heart!

After seeing a picture of Cheryl in this weeks tabloids with a gorgeous new hair do and a smile on her face, I think its safe to say Cheryl’s happiness and career are on the up. She is living proof that you do not need to rely on a man in order to succeed, and as sad as it is to watch your marriage disappear, I’m sure it will be so much more rewarding to see what the future holds!

So ladies, remember : a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle, go out there and define yourself as a sex, confident and above all, successful woman. Hit me up on Twitter if you want to chat – @mskarlyashworth – until next time. Mwah!

Karly Ashworth On Internet Fakers and THAT Twitter Profile

Hey guys,

Today blog has come about after I sat down and plugged my name into the old Facebook search bar to see what kind of stuff popped up. Random I know, but I  hope you all will see my point in the end!

So, for those of you at your computers who have the social networking sites up when you should be working *cough cough*, why not take two minutes to have a break, put the boring emails to one side and check your old faithful Twitter, Facebook, MySpace or Bebo… And tell me, how many profiles come up when you search your name? Only one…PHEW! You can breathe again!

Unfortunately for me, I found out today that there are around 10 fake profiles clogging up the World Wide Web with people claiming to be me and writing a load of old absolute nonsense about a personal life that doesn’t even exist. Nightmare!

Now I know this may sound rather petty to some of you, so I’ sorry, but I do find the whole thing rather disturbing, I mean, how easy is it nowadays for people to claim they are someone else? I was even messaged by one person claiming that THEY were the real Karly and I was to stop ‘pretending’ to be her! (I was even questioning whether or not I was real for a second or two!)

My Official (and only) Twitter

Not only that, but I now have some crazed guy with my name attached to his twitter?! I mean what on earth is that all about?!, I’m sure you all know to whom I am referring right now, but just the thought of someone posing as me, using my name to benefit themselves and publishing information about me and my life which is nothing to do with them – or anyone else for that matter – really aggravates me.

Anyway, with that little rant over, it does actually lead me onto a very serious point; How many young girls and boys out there use the internet nowadays? I’m sure kids as young as 13 have Facebook? I know it’s not quite the same, but my little sister is only five, and I was amazed when I discovered she knew how to turn on the computer!

We are in a totally different technological age now, long gone are the days when playing out in the back garden was fun. These innocent kids are on the internet, assuming they are connecting with friends when really, they could be connecting with anybody!

Look at all the people who added one of my fake profiles – It wasn’t a young blonde glamour model you connected with, it was probably be some fat smelly 50 year old man. Now THAT is worrying.

But what help is there to stop this happening? Apart from reporting someone, not very much. The internet is a very big place and people can publish all manner of things which could discredit others, or lure a young child into a very dangerous situation.

With regards to the fake profiles and the imitation, I should be flattered that someone thinks so highly of me to want to pass themselves off as me, or affiliated with me; to me this just mirrors peoples insecurity with themselves and fascination to become someone else. I suppose in a sense the internet does give one a mask to do this with, but in my eyes its completely wrong! After all, isn’t it  better to be you than someone else? After all, that’s what makes us all so wonderful (or not so wonderful in some cases) and I’m sure that Karly is more than enough anyway! :) So drop the masks people and get your OWN beautiful faces out there!

I want you all to know that I love to keep in touch with my fans, they always have such positive things to say and I find it really inspiring and uplifting to hear from them, and ALWAYS try my very best to reply to you all. What annoys me is these lovely thoughts are getting lost somewhere in the world of internet fakes!

So, for the record, I have one official Twitter account which you can follow me on if you like – @mskarlyashworth – and I find that this, as well as my blog the best ways to connect with everyone. So come and say ‘’Hi’’ to the real Karly Ashworth… I look forward to meeting you.
