The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Images

There is no movie that I am looking forward to more than The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – which is set to hit the big screen in December.

Excitement around the movie continues to grow and the release of more images from the film looks set to only heighten that excitement.

Earlier this summer it was revealed that The Hobbit was going to be split into three movies instead of the originally planned two – so for the next three Christmases we are going to be heading to Middle Earth.

Martin Freeman is set to play Bilbo Baggins in the movie while Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving are some of the familiar faces on the cast list.

But Luke Evans, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lily and Billy Connolly make up a very exciting group of actors.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released 14th December.

Filmclub at Burke and Hare Premiere

Burke & Hare is released this week and the movie sees Sion Pegg and Andy Serkis join forces to tell the tale of Scotland’s most notorious serial killers.

William Burke and William Hare are scratching out a living in 1830s Edinburgh. After yet another failed business venture, they return to Hare’s lodging house to find that their tenant has suddenly died on rent day.

As the boys decide how to dispose of the body over a drink, they discover that a corpse can fetch a hefty price.

Edinburgh is the centre of the medical universe and the city’s doctors are crying out for more cadavers for their educational lectures.

First they try the infamous Dr. Monro, but he’s not interested, so they sell the corpse to Dr. Knox, his vain and ambitious rival who urges them to bring any more ‘unfortunates’ they may stumble upon.

Entrepreneurial Hare is quick to realize they’ve hit on a great money making venture and despite the more sensitive Burke’s misgivings, they embark on a series of plans to secure more bodies.

They arrange a series of deadly ‘accidents’ for the local unfortunates and to celebrate their success, they go out on the town to celebrate. There, Burke meets GINNY, a beautiful and spirited aspiring actress.

In a series of hilarious comic misadventures Burke and Hare begin to secure a steady stream of bodies and the cash starts rolling in.

Ruth’s Tuesday Tickle

Thanks to Ashley Cole giving his estranged wife a shed load of publicity lately Cheryl Cole has decided to do what all good celebrities do when they have a ‘scandal’ in their lives, and release a book. Personally I think we’d have a lot less to worry about when it comes to deforestation if folk stopped writing books at every opportunity.

And Chezza isn’t the only one deciding to write a book today, as N-Dubz reckon they’ve got what it takes to write a little story and get their faces splashed across the WHSmith shelves. Whilst we never doubted N-Dubz sentence-forming skills *cough cough*, we think that a book full on Na Na Naiiiii might not be the next bestseller, but hey, give them a chance to prove themselves

Andy Serkis believes thatThe Hobbit will begin filming before 2010 is up, a little bit different to the summer prediction of Ian McKellan. But having not yet announced the cast I can’t see filming getting underway anytime soon.

Drew Barrymore hates the ‘celebrity’ tag as it takes away the work that she has done as an actress. Er not wishing to be funny but just what Oscar worthy work as Barrymore been doing of late? Love don’t take yourself so seriously!
