There is no movie that I am more excited about this autumn/winter than The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as we return to Middle Earth for the first time in nearly a decade.

Peter Jackson is back in the director’s chair as he once again brings his vision of Tolkien’s world to the big screen.

And the Oscar winning director has assembled an impressive cast as the likes of Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis are all set to star.

And this time around the movie will be bulging with dwarves with Richard Armitage, Billy Connolly, Lee Pace, Aidan Turner, James Nesbitt and Ken Stott just some of the actors taking on these roles.

Ruth’s Thursday Tweet

Looks as though my assumptions that most psychics want to cash in on death could be coming true after Derek Acorah has announced plans to chat to Michael Jackson in a new TV show for Sky One! Can’t ANYONE leave Jacko to rest in peace?

Late Boyzone star Stephen Gately is to be laid to rest on Saturday in his hometown of Dublin. But as the preparations for his funeral begin, does anyone else still find it hard to come to terms with his untimely death?

As if Alex Reid hadn’t bagged himself enough headlines after shacking up with Katie Price and filming a gross rape scene, he’s now trying to piss off Peter Andre by telling the papers that Junior has been calling him “Daddy.” AR is saying he’s set Junior straight… so why does he feel the need to alert the press?

Cheryl Cole might have taken over your radio station with her new single Fight For This Love, but after admitting she was planning to mime the single on this weekend’s X Factor, we’re stuck for words, especially since she’s supposed to be teaching those X Factor wannabes how to sing live!

When Heath Ledger passed away last year it’s fair to say that it did come as a bit of a shock. This week sees his final movie hit the big screen in the form of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus so we take a look back over his career and his finest performances.

Ian McKellan is in for another lengthy shoot as The Hobbit looks set to take twelve months to film. Now I know that the popular novel has been split into two movies but that really does seem just a tad excessive.
