Oldboy First Poster

Spike Lee is set to return to the director’s chair later this year with his remake of Oldboy.

The movie was released back in 2004 and was directed by Chan-wook Park but now it is getting a Hollywood makeover.

And the first teaser poster for the movie has been released as excitement around this film begins to grow:

Josh Brolin leads an all star cast as he takes on the role of Joe Doucett. Samuel L. Jackson, Sharlto Copley, Elizabeth Olsen and Richard Portnow are all on board.

Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement.

When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Oldboy is out later this year.

The Gangster Squad International Trailer

Now I have to admit that I do like a gangster movie and one of the films in this genre that I am most looking forward to the most is Gangster Squad.

And if there is one thing that should get you excited about this movie then it is the eye-watering cast.

Josh Brolin leads that cast and he is joined by Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte and two time Oscar winner Sean Penn.

And here is the new international trailer – which does feature a tiny bit of new footage:

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and, if he has his way, every wire bet placed west of Chicago.

And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control.

It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop – except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.

Gangster Squad is a colorful retelling of events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.

Gangster Squad is released 9th November.

When you sees a cast list that includes Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Nick Nolte you know that it is going to be one hell of a movie.

And director Ruben Fleischer has brought all of this great talent together for just one movie… Gangster Squad.

I have to admit I am a fan of the gangster movie and this one looks like it is going to be the best for some time, the cast is just awesome!!

And we have the first trailer for the movie for you to take a look at:

Men In Black III Clips

The Men In Black are back this summer as Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return to the roles of J & K for the first time in a decade.

And the first clips for the movie have finally been released and once again Smith & Jones, as well as Josh Brolin, are kicking some alien ass:

Agent J travels in time to MIB’s early years in the 1960s, to stop an alien from assassinating his friend Agent K and changing history.

Josh Brolin is on hand to play a younger version of K, I swear Brolin sound likes Jones when he speaks.

Barry Sonnenfeld is back in the director’s chair for the movie while Emma Thompson, Alice Eve, Jemaine Clement and Bill Hader are all also on the cast list.

Men In Black III is released 25th May

Men In Black 3 looks set to be one of the big movies of summer 2012 – a decade after we last saw this franchise grace the big screen.

It’s also been a while since we have seen Will Smith in a movie but he is back as Agent J while Tommy Lee Jones will also reprise the role of Agent K.

This time around there is a time travelling twist to the movie as J has to travel back in time to save his good friend K.

In the past K is played by Oscar nominee Josh Brolin – who looks to have got Jones’ tone and mannerisms nailed.

Emma Thompson and Alice Eve are just a couple of the other new faces on the cast list while Nicole Scherzinger will also cameo.

You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger Trailer

Woody Allen’s You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger follows a pair of married couples, Alfie (Anthony Hopkins) and Helena (Gemma Jones), and their daughter Sally (Naomi Watts) and husband Roy (Josh Brolin), as their passions, ambitions, and anxieties lead them into trouble and out of their minds.

After Alfie leaves Helena to pursue his lost youth and a free-spirited call girl named Charmaine (Lucy Punch), Helena abandons rationality and surrenders her life to the loopy advice of a charlatan fortune teller.

Unhappy in her marriage, Sally develops a crush on her handsome art gallery owner boss, Greg (Antonio Banderas), while Roy, a novelist nervously awaiting the response to his latest manuscript, becomes moonstruck over Dia (Freida Pinto), a mystery woman who catches his gaze through a nearby window.

Despite these characters’ attempts to dodge their problems with pipe dreams and impracticable plans, their efforts lead only to heartache, irrationality, and perilous hot water.

Taking its title from the prediction fortune tellers use to beguile their marks, – You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, illustrates with wry humour how easy it is for our illusions to make fools of us all.

You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is released 18th March. Take a look at the new trailer:

True Grit Clips

True Grit looks set to be one of the early must see movies of 2011 as Ethan and Joel Coen return to the director’s chair.

Jeff Bridges is back on the big screen as he joins forces with Matt Damon and Josh Brolin – this could be in the Oscar running folks!

Following the murder of her father by hired hand Tom Chaney, 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross sets out to capture the killer.

To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with “true grit,” Reuben J. “Rooster” Cogburn.

Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character do not augment her faith in him.

Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search of Chaney.

They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes.

The unlikely trio find danger and surprises on the journey, and each has his or her “grit” tested.

True Grit is released 14th January. Take a look at some clips from the movie:

New True Grit & No Strings Attached Poster

No Country For Old Men was one of the best movies of 2008, indeed it went on to take the Best Picture Oscar, and now the Coen Brothers are back with their new western style movie True Grit.

Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross’s (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice.

Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him — over his objections — to hunt down Chaney.

Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.

No Strings Attached is directed by Ivan Reitman, directing his first movie since My Super Ex-Girlfriend back in 2006, and is written by Elizabeth Meriweather.

Portman and Kutcher play two friends who agree to start a casual fling, thinking they can do it without any emotional baggage.

Sounds easy enough, right? Sure — that is, until love gets in the way. From then on, they must decide whether they can actually make their newly defined friendship work.
